One year after a 26-man Shore Conference contingent played a huge role in leading the South to victory, another 17 will be part of the South squad in Monday's 37th annual Phil Simms North-South All-Star Classic at 7 p.m. at Kean University.

Suiting up for the South all-stars in New Jersey's oldest state-wide all-star game will be Long Branch kicker Vinny Mota and running back Dahmiere Willis, Neptune defensive back Royal Moore, Middletown North tight end/linebacker Troy Thompson, Point Boro quarterback/defensive back Jack Fitzsimmons, Point Beach safety Jake Fioretti, Toms River South quarterback/defensive back Tymere Berry, Lacey quarterback Conor Davies, St. John Vianney wide receiver/defensive back Dan Calabro, Matawan wide receiver/defensive back Justin Ferrara, Jackson Memorial wide receiver/safety Matt Castronuova and offensive lineman Tyler Rauch, Brick linebacker Ray Fattaruso, Barnegat two-way lineman Xavier Young, Toms River North defensive lineman Adam Kakar, Pinelands offensive lineman Dave Staton, and Mater Dei Prep defensive lineman Quylil Maxwell.

Willis was the SSN Offensive Player of the Year after racking up a Shore Conference single-season record 2,589 yards rushing, and Calabro and Rauch were also SSN first-team All-Shore selections. Ferrara, Young, Moore, Castronuova, Thompson and Berry were also selected to one of the three SSN All-Shore teams.

The South leads the all-time series, 17-16-2. The game is back at Kean University's Alumni Stadium after a one-year hiatus in which it was played at Piscataway High School.

Shore players scored two of the three touchdowns for the South in last year's 20-14 win at Piscataway High School, and Manalapan linebacker Chris Noesges was named the South's Defensive MVP after finishing with six tackles and recovering a fumble that led to a touchdown.
