Sophomore quarterback Micah Ford ran for two touchdowns and threw two more, sophomore Tareq Council caught two touchdowns and returned an interception for a touchdown, and sophomore Jeremiah Pruitt had a touchdown run and a fumble return touchdown as the Mariners (7-3) crushed the Eagles (7-4) to return to a sectional final for the first time since 2016.

The Mariners blew the game open three minutes later when Ford broke free on a 69-yard touchdown run for a 34-7 advantage. A 52-yard touchdown run by Pruitt made it 41-7 and an interception return for a touchdown by Council put the finishing touchdowns on a statement-making victory.

Central Jersey Group 3 Semifinals

1-Rumson-Fair Haven 34, 4-Burlington Township 0

A Burlington Township team that entered with an 8-1 record and averaging 35.6 points per game was no match for a Rumson difference that is simply playing at another level.

The Bulldogs held the Falcons to just 20 yards of offense, including minus-6 yards rushing, and did not allow a first down for the second straight game to advance to their eighth straight sectional final. In two playoff games, Rumson has allowed zero first downs and outscored its opponents 71-0.

Senior quarterback Colin Kennedy paced the offense by throwing for 119 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 126 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Senior tight end Aidan Casuccio had a 16-yard touchdown reception and sophomore wide receiver Nick Rigby had a 24-yard touchdown reception. Central Jersey Group 2 Semifinals

1-Raritan 41, 4-Hillside 34

Senior running back Joe Campanella scored on a 17-yard run to give Raritan the lead with 56 seconds left and the defense came up with a stop inside its own 15-yard line of the final play of the game to give the Rockets (6-4) a thrilling victory over the Comets to advance to their first sectional final since 2015.

Campanella also had a 44-yard touchdown run and an interception on defense. Junior running back Kieran Falzon had touchdown runs of 1, 9, and 15 yards, and senior quarterback Ben Hutchins had a 72-yard touchdown run.

Raritan jumped out to a lightning-quick 21-0 lead in the first quarter starting with Campanella's 44-yard score. Campanella then intercepted a pass and returned it 40 yards to the Hillside 20. A 22-yard run by Hutchins then set up Falzon for a 1-yard plunge and a 14-0 Raritan lead. Hutchins' 72-yard touchdown run made it 21-0 a mere 7:58 into the game.

Hillside clawed back, however, starting with a 46-yard touchdown run by Kyon Simonson with 3:05 left in the first quarter. Falzon stretched Raritan's lead to 27-7 with a 9-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter but Hillside used a 39-yard touchdown run by Muffawq Parkman and a 51-yard touchdown run by Caleb Salters to cut Raritan's lead to 27-20 at halftime.

Hillside then tied the game at 27 on a 40-yard touchdown run by Simonson at the 8:31 mark of the third quarter.
