When he was named the Rutgers head wrestling coach 12 years ago many wondered why Scott Goodale would give up his teaching and coach job at Jackson Memorial.  He had built a powerhouse at his alma mater, going 155-16 over seven seasons and twice finishing as the #1 ranked team in the state.  There were also those who questioned the Scarlet Knights decision to hire a high school coach to take over their program. That move has never looked as good as it does know with Rutgers producing a pair of National Champions in Anthony Ashnault & Nice Suriano last weekend and Goodale named the NCAA National Tournament Coach of the Year.

It’s a hectic time for the Toms River resident but he took some time to share his thoughts about the present and the future of the Rutgers program and more.
