RUDY is a 1993 film about the life of Daniel “Rudy” Reuttiger (played by Sean Astin) who overcame the odds to play football at his beloved Notre Dame. Fighting Irish faithful love that movie and by just one vote it slipped by the baseball classic FIELD OF DREAMS to advance to the finals against HOOSIERS, which scored a knockout over ROCKY by a 2-to-1 margin. Released in 1986 it’s the story of a small Indiana high school basketball team coached by Norman Dale (Gene Hackman).
