The votes have been counted and Raritan High School is the winner of the Shore Sports Network’s search for the school that puts on the most entertaining halftime show during their home football games. The Marching Rockets field show this fall is “Luigi’s Ristorante” and under the direction of Mr. Raymond Lahaye and Mrs. Emily Soporowski the 70 members take you to dinner at Luigi’s and invite you to enjoy the ambience and atmosphere.

The Marching Rockets placed first in competitions at Brick Memorial and East Brunswick this year and earned second place honors at Brick Township High School and Toms River East. They will be traveling to Disney World to participate in the Magical Music Parade and workshops.

Director Lahaye was thrilled when notified of the honor which comes with a plaque from Ocean Trophies in Lanoka Harbor. He said his students practice three days a week, attend all football games, and compete on a regular basis. “These students have gone above and beyond any expectation or goal we set for them.”

Lahaye wanted to thank those who voted for them and added, “A special thank you to our amazing Central Administration, Athletic Director John DeGenito, the high school administration, Hazlet Board of Education and the parents, family members and fellow classmates who support us every day.”

Raritan beat out Brick Memorial, Central Regional, Jackson Liberty and Point Boro in the finals.
