Due to positive COVID-19 cases among the student body, Red Bank Regional High School has suspended all in-person instruction, activities and athletics until Friday, Nov. 13, Superintendent Louis Moore said in a letter posted to the school district's web site on Wednesday.

The letter states that four RBR students tested positive for COVID-19 but "there continues to be no evidence of community transmission of the virus within our school."

Red Bank's Week 6 game against Pinelands has been canceled. It is unclear whether the Bucs will be played in an NJSIAA postseason pod. Those matchups are scheduled to be released today and the first games are on Nov. 13. All teams, regardless of record, are eligible for the postseason.

Red Bank is 1-4 on the season with its lone win coming against John F. Kennedy High School in Week 2. The Bucs' next scheduled game is vs. Matawan on Nov. 20, which is a makeup game from earlier in the season when Matawan's program was shut down due to COVID-19. Red Bank also plays Long Branch on Thanksgiving.
