Junior running back Sekou Kamau had a 5-yard touchdown run, a 39-yard touchdown catch, and an interception on defense as Long Branch, ranked No. 7 in the Shore Sports Network Top 10, defeated rival Ocean Township, 23-6, on Friday night in a nondivisional game to remain undefeated heading into the Shore Conference postseason.

Senior quarterback Christian Rodriguez also threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Michael Hall and Wesley Garcia kicked a field goal.

Rodriguez completed 16 of 21 passes for 220 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, Kamau totaled 106 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 15 touches, Hall caught three passes for 49 yards and a score, and Shamar Williams caught a team-high four passes for 60 yards.

Long Branch, which clinched the Freedom Division title in Week 6, is now 6-0 on the season and one of just four unbeaten teams in the Shore. The Green Wave have a bye in Week 8 and will return to action for a huge game against Rumson-Fair Haven on Friday, Oct. 29 before the state playoffs begin.
