Class A North

No. 8 Middletown North 6, Freehold Boro 0

Sophomore Ryan Barnao scored two goals and senior C.J. Crolius added a goal and an assist to key a win for the Lions (4-2, 2-1) over the Colonials (0-6, 0-3).

Sophomores Nick Dinella and Josiah Stepney each scored a goal, as did senior Mike Colantino.

No. 1 CBA 2, No. 3 Howell 1

Junior Dimitry Corba buried a penalty kick in the 33rd minute and senior Jack D'Eletto scored 10 minutes later, with the Colts (5-1, 2-1) holding on to hand the Rebels (5-1, 2-1) their first loss of the season.

Corba ripped a shot headed toward the goal in the 33rd minute and it caught the arm of Howell defender R.J. Eckelman for a handball in the box. Corba tucked the penalty into the lower left corner for the first goal of the season scored against Howell.

Three minutes into the second half, junior Dylan Millevoi knocked the ball toward the top of the six-yard box, when D'Eletto beat a defender to the ball and slammed it past Howell goalkeeper Charlie Scanlon for a 2-0 Colts lead.

Bryce Ocolla cut the CBA lead in half when he ran onto a pass from Nick Turturro and hit a deflected shot into the goal in the 53rd minute.

Scanlon did his part to keep Howell within striking distance by saving eight shots, including three on shots from the six-yard mark or closer.

No. 4 Freehold Twp. 1, Manalapan 0

Senior Tyler Santos scored off a feed from classmate Tim Bertscha for the game's lone goal and the Patriots (4-1, 2-1) blanked the Braves (3-3, 1-3) for their fourth straight win since dropping their opening-day match.

Middletown South 2, No. 9 Marlboro 0

Junior Shawn McCann and sophomore Matteo Miglio each scored a goal and the Eagles (3-3, 2-1) snapped a three-game skid by knocking off the Mustangs (2-2, 2-2) in shutout fashion.

 

Class A Central

No. 2 Holmdel 6, Raritan 0

Senior Aidan Hynes scored in the first half and Colin Hynes scored two goals during Holmdel's five-goal second-half explosion that sparked the Hornets (6-0, 3-0) to a win over the Rockets (2-3, 1-1).

Luke Brand, Stephan Kapranov and Ethan Duborg also scored a goal apiece in Holmdel's big second half.

Rumson-Fair Haven 5, Monmouth 1

Senior Antonio Santos and sophomore Ronan Hogg each scored two goals and the Bulldogs (3-2, 2-0) cruised to a win over the Falcons (2-3, 1-2). Senior Alec Pentikis scored the other Rumson goal.

Wall 2, Shore 0

Senior James Damiano scored a goal and assisted one by junior Nick Damiano -- both in the second half -- and the Crimson Knights (2-2-1, 2-0-0) put away the Blue Devils (2-4, 0-3). Junior Jake Petillo assisted the first goal of the game, which came in the 53rd minute.

 

Class B North

Matawan 1, St. John Vianney 0

Senior Amar Dzombalic scored off a pass from senior Evan Arendt in the 34th minute and the Huskies (2-3, 2-1) made it hold up in a win over the Lancers (1-4-1, 0-3-0).

No. 6 Neptune 2, Manasquan 1

Senior Ernst Louisius scored 1:15 into the match and assisted the game-winner by classmate Lee Petrowski in the 73rd minute to lead the Scarlet Fliers (5-1, 2-1) to a road win over the Warriors (3-2, 1-1).

Sophomore Christian Gonzalez equalized for Manasquan in the 69th minute by chasing down a through-ball from senior Aidan Sugrue and finishing it.

Four minutes later, Louisius flicked a pass over the Manasquan line and Petrowski tracked it down before finishing the deciding goal, giving Neptune its fifth straight win since dropping a 1-0 decision to Ocean on opening-day.

No. 5 Ocean 4, Red Bank 0

Junior Alexander Korolev scored two goals to go with an assist and the Spartans (3-1-1, 3-0-0) rolled past the Bucs (0-3, 0-3) to remain perfect in divisional play. Sophomore Leon Leon and senior Anjan Bagchi each added a goal for Ocean.

Long Branch 4, Colts Neck 0

Senior Anthony Vasquez scored in the seventh minute -- the first of four Long Branch goals in a span of 14 minutes -- and assisted the third goal of the outburst to jumpstart a Green Wave (2-2, 1-1) win over the Cougars (3-1-1, 2-1-0).

Junior Nicolas Davhi Borges assisted the Vasquez goal and added one of his own off a pass from junior Wyatt Vicente to cap the scoring. Sophomore Johan Gomez scored to make it 2-0 and junior Chris Lopez connected off Vasquez's assist to extend the lead to 3-0.
