Shore Conference Tournament - Bracket

Round of 16

(2) Jackson Liberty 12, (18) Colts Neck 10

Senior Charlie Rudderow hit a game-winning, two-run home run with one out in the bottom of the seventh and the Lions walked off with another dramatic tournament win - this time over the Cougars to advance to the SCT quarterfinals Wednesday against No. 7 Wall at Jackson Liberty.

The Lions entered the bottom of the seventh trailing, 10-9, and pulled even when sophomore Dan Keenan walked and scored on an RBI double by his brother, senior Connor Keenan. Rudderow came to the plate with one out and smashed a 3-1 pitch over the left-field fence to send Jackson Liberty to the next round.

Colts Neck took the lead in the top of the ninth when senior Adrian Jimenez was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, stole second with two out and scored on a go-ahead RBI single by Matt Veneziano.

(3) CBA 4, (14) Neptune 0

Junior Pat Reilly took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and the Colts kept their pristine postseason record (5-0) intact by blanking the Scarlet Fliers. Junior Jett Tinik singled leading off the sixth to break up the no-hitter and junior Rocco Richard followed three batters later with a two-out double to chase Reilly.

Junior Braedin Hunt came on and induced an inning-ending pop-up to escape trouble and pitched a clean seventh to earn his third save.

Senior Anthony Celestre doubled and scored on an RBI single by junior Mason Wolf for the first run in the fifth inning and after a sacrifice bunt by junior Jason Arnott, senior Tommy DiTullio gave CBA its fourth run with an RBI single to left.

CBA advances to the quarterfinal round and will host the three meeting of the season between the Colts and the No. 6 Braves. The two Class A North rivals locked up for a 15-inning classic that took two days to complete. After Manalapan pulled out the win in that one, CBA pair the Braves back by winning the second meeting the next day, 3-1.

(5) Jackson Memorial 7, (12) Toms River North 1

Junior Ryan Lasko and senior Troy Bathmann each homered to help break open the game as the Jaguars led wire-to-wire to take the rubber match with the rival Mariners.

Lasko's solo shot over the scoreboard in left - his fifth of the season - increased Jackson Memorial's lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth. Bathmann came off the bench to blast a two-run shot to left that capped the scoring in the bottom of the sixth.

Sophomore shortstop Ty Beck singled home a run in the sixth before Bathmann's homer, singled on a hit-and-run that set up a squeeze bunt by freshman Zach Crotchfelt in the second, and made three key plays in the field to round out an all-around effort.

Jackson Memorial will travel to Count Basie Park Wednesday to play No. 4 Red Bank Catholic in the SCT quarterfinals. Jackson Memorial defeated RBC on Wednesday, 6-1, in the regular-season game.
