As we ring in 2017, take a minute to head outside and look to the skies for a spectacular sight: a New Year's Eve comet!

The comet has actually been visible in some way since December 15th, but the best chance to check it out will be when it's overhead this weekend.

NASA reports that it will be closest to the moon tomorrow, and will be distinguished by its bluish-green head and a long tail.

As the skies darken, look toward to moon. It will look different from everything else around it. You will need binoculars, or even better, a telescope, to get a really good view of it, and of course we'll have to hope that Mother Nature cooperates by giving us clear skies.

We are expecting a mix of sun and clouds throughout New Jersey for tomorrow, so it's *possible* that we'll be able to see it!

That has to be a good sign for 2017, right?
