It's hard to believe that we are already halfway through with the 2013 season.

Looking back on the first half of the season, it is disappointing to be 3-3, but we are excited about the three-game winning streak that we currently have. Teams always want to be taking steps forward as the season goes on, and that is exactly what we are doing. We are taking one game at a time, and we don't want to lose a game in this second half of our season. I haven't shaved since the winning streak started either, so the beard stays for as long as we win.

This past Saturday we took on former NEC rival Robert Morris at Kessler Field. When we played this team in the last game of the season last year it was a tight battle throughout. Our defense made a stop deep in our own territory to pull out a thrilling victory last year in Pittsburgh. This year the team was really focused on playing well and getting a win for our home crowd. We only have four chances to play in front of our fans and we were already beat at Kessler this season.

We did exactly that and got the win on Saturday and played our best game yet. It seemed like everything was clicking for us all game long. Our defense was getting stops, and our offense was scoring touchdowns. We also had two running backs (Julian Hayes and KB Asante) exceed 100 yards rushing for the fourth straight week. Special teams play is something that we need to improve on but it was a great win against a tough opponent, 35-9.

This Saturday, October 12th, we travel to Loretto, Pennsylvania to take on the Saint Francis Red Flash, which has a 1-4 record. We can't judge this team off of their record because Saint Francis has played some very good teams. The team knows this is going to be one of the toughest games of the season. Be sure to check us out on Saturday as we go for our fourth straight win!
