Mike Bickford’s 246 Yards, 3 TDs Lead Central to First Playoff Victory in 20 Years

Sophomore running back Mike Bickford continued his huge season with 246 yards rushing and three touchdowns on a career-high 41 carries to help the Golden Eagles (7-2) win their first state playoff game since 1994 and just their second in program history by knocking off the Falcons (5-4) on the turf at Toms River East.

Central will now travel to top-seeded Allentown for the semifinals. Junior quarterback Mike Miserendino added a 15-yard touchdown pass to fullback Denis Corbin in the win.

Bickford now has 1,781 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns for a monster year in his first varsity season.
