Red Bank 17, Ranney 5

Jake Smolokoff netted six goals with two assists and Karl Hottman also found the back of the net six times as the Bucs improved to 5-0 with the win over the Panthers (0-2). George Zackman added two goals and an assist, and Cole Smolokoff and Brian Fagan etched had a goal and an assist. Fagan also had a game-high nine ground balls, while Ryan Seely had an assist to go with eight ground balls. Jon Pierce made eight saves in goal to earn the win.

 

Wall 13, Toms River East 1

Kyle Critchlow and Mike Steppe each scored five goals to lead the charge for the Crimson Knights (2-1) in a convincing win over the Raiders (0-5).

 

Marlboro 10, Lacey 8

 

Nonconference

Brick Memorial 18, North Brunswick 2

Christian McGartty scored five goals and added four assists, and Griffin Carney also scored five times for the Mustangs (3-1) in a nonconference victory over the Raiders (0-5). Carney also had an assist to go along with a whopping 20 ground balls and a 13-for-16 mark on face-offs. Junior Bailey Sharpe had four goals and three assists and junior Chris Harvey scored three times, while Dylan Visser dished out five assists and Billy Porter added four helpers. C.J. Guarino made seven saves.

 

Holmdel 15, Edison 3

Mark Scherzer and Joe Tages each registered five goals and two assists in the Hornets' (2-2) blowout win over the Eagles (0-3). Connor Shields and Matt Dixon each had a goal and an assist with eight and 10 ground balls, respectively. Justin Ruiz made 11 saves to pick up the win.

 

Old Bridge 7, St. John Vianney 6

Christian Byer scored three times and T.J. Coleman had a goal and three assists, but the Lancers (2-1) couldn't hold off a four-goal, fourth-quarter rally by the Knights (4-1) in a nonconference game. Dan Louriero had a goal and an assist and Ryan Gilfillan had a goal and a game-high eight ground balls to help St. John Vianney build a 5-0 halftime advantage. Pat Gribbon made eight saves.

 

Rumson-Fair Haven 8, Caldwell 3

Senior attackman Colin Shea had four goals and three assists and Bryce Metzger made 19 saves to lead the Bulldogs (3-0) past the Chiefs (2-2) in a nonconference road game. Dominic Padula added two goals and an assist.

 

Watchung Hills 6, Red Bank Catholic 2

The Caseys (3-2) received goals from Ryan Coolahan and Alex Spiezio in a nonconference loss to the host Warriors (2-2). Matt Benjamin made six saves in goal.
