Donovan Catholic 53, Manchester 51

Junior Chris Miranda scored 13 points with a trio of three-pointers and the Griffins (9-10) held on to beat the Hawks (6-13) less than 24 hours after losing a tight game at Red Bank Catholic in the opening round of the Shore Conference Tournament.

Senior Pete Farlekas followed up his 30-point outburst on Tuesday night with 12 points on Wednesday, including 11 in the second half for Donovan Catholic, which scored 25 points in the third quarter to build a 14-point cushion heading to the fourth.

Senior Brian Farrell also added nine points and sophomore Ryan Jacobs chipped in five points, eight rebounds and five assists and two steals for the Griffins.

Senior Evan Weiner led Manchester with 12 points, six rebounds, four steals and two blocks. Sophomore Aidan Lunn and junior Josh Love each added nine points in the loss, with Lunn also contributing 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks while Love dished out six assists.

Middletown North 51, Toms River South 36

Sophomore Colin Byrne scored 18 points and the Lions (3-18) topped the Indians (6-17) to snap a 14-game losing streak.

Juniors Jason Quardt and Luke Sheehan each added 14 points for Middletown North, which lost 11 of the 14 games during the losing streak to teams that qualified for the Shore Conference Tournament.

Junior Jordan Jones led Toms River South with 11 points.

Lawrence 66, Lacey 57

Seniors Troy Buxton and Chris Venturoso each scored 18 points, but the Lions (11-11) fell to the Cardinals (9-15) on the road.

Keansburg 56, South Amboy 43

Senior Jordan Bey scored 14 points and classmate Jaheim Hill added 12 to pace the Titans (8-8) to a win over the Governors (11-10).

Holmdel 74, Willingboro 59

Junior Nick Seeloch went off for 32 points and the Hornets (9-10) stormed past the Chimeras (6-16). Seeloch (two), junior Ben Kipnis (five) and freshman Jack Vallillo (four) combined for 11 three-pointers and 61 points, with Kipnis scoring 17 and Vallillo finishing with 12 for Holmdel.

Point Beach 67, South Hunterdon 62

Senior Kevin Burns scored 24 points to go with 12 rebounds and the Garnet Gulls (14-7) battled for a road win over the Eagles (8-11).

Senior Stephen Seaman added 20 points, including four free throws to put the game away, while senior Kyle Kolans chipped in 13 for Point Beach.
