Class A North

CBA 51, Marlboro 49

Senior Will Bradley scored 18 points and the Colts survived a furious comeback by the Mustangs to clinch a share of the Class A North division title.

Marlboro erased a 16-point halftime deficit to tie the game with 1:02 left and CBA freshman Connor Andree converted the game-winning layup for CBA with 13 seconds left.

Sophomore Justin Fuerbacher added 10 points and senior Joe White chipped in nine for CBA, which led, 32-16, at halftime and 36-22 with three minutes left in the third quarter.

Junior Steve Scimone scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to highlight a Marlboro rally that completely wiped out the 14-point deficit with 11 minutes to go and tied the game at 49 with a little more than a minute left.

Senior Alex Frank scored nine of his 12 points in the third quarter and senior Sohan Eleti added 10 for Marlboro.

 

Class A Central

Matawan 56, Holmdel 46

Sophomore Jayden Elijah posted 19 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks as the Huskies beat the Hornets to sweep the regular-season series in Class A Central.

Elijah combined with classmates Chauncey Brown and Amir Martinez, as well as senior Colin Haluska, to score all 56 of Matawan's points. Brown poured in 14 points, Martinez contributed 12 points and six assists, and Haluska went for 11 points and eight rebounds in the win.

Junior Ben Kipnis led Holmdel with 17 points.

 

Class A South

Brick Memorial 56, No. 7 Southern 45

Senior Josh Michigan scored 21 points and the Mustangs downed the Rams to further tighten the Class A South division race.

Senior Brian Starrett added 13 points, senior Dorian Alston poured in 12 and senior Mike Dayton contributed nine points for Brick Memorial.

Sophomore Justin Silva led Southern with 13 points.

No. 9 Jackson Memorial 42, Toms River East 31

Senior Respect Tyleek scored 11 points, dished out 10 assists and picked off five steals to carry the Jaguars to a win over the Raiders.

Senior Charlie Meglio and junior Shaun Hubbard each scored six points in the balanced Jackson Memorial attack, which proved to be enough after the Jaguars outscored Toms River East, 11-2, in the first quarter.

Junior Steven Scorsone scored 11 points to lead Toms River East.

No. 8 Toms River North 72, Toms River South 62

Junior Micah Ford scored 26 points and classmate Owen Baker added 20 as the Mariners pulled away with a win over the Indians to move into a first-place tie in Class A South.

Senior Delani Hyde pitched in 11 points and sophomore Sherrod Nelson dished out seven assists to help power Toms River North.

 

Class B North

Colts Neck 52, Red Bank Catholic 50 (2 OT)

Senior Tyler Spencer went scoreless for more than 39 minutes, but buried the go-ahead three-pointer with 20 seconds left in double-overtime to deliver the Cougars a come-from-behind win over the Caseys.

Senior Will Surdez scored 17 points and canned a game-tying three-pointer with 28 seconds left in regulation, drawing Colts Neck even for the first time since the game was 0-0. Junior Mike Belcher also scored 10 points and sophomore Vova Trotsko pitched in eight for the Cougars.

Juniors Colin Cavanaugh and Tyler Burnham each scored 13 points to lead Red Bank Catholic, which also got nine points from sophomore Sean Saxton.

 

Class B Central

Asbury Park 53, Keansburg 33

Senior Davon Foster scored 23 points and the Blue Bishops rolled to a win over the Titans.

Seniors Shaborn Goodman and Jai'Sun Brown each added 10 points for Asbury Park, while senior Jaheim Hill led Keansburg with 10.

Keyport 67, Point Beach 59

Junior Mike Ford scored 16 of his 24 points in the first half and seniors Terrek Mimes and Max Judson combined for 27 points in the second half as the Red Raiders overcame a 16-point first-quarter deficit to upend the Garnet Gulls and pull into a tie with Point Beach atop the Class B Central standings.

Mimes and Judson each finished with 18-point double-doubles, with Judson grabbing 11 rebounds and Mimes grabbing 13 for Keyport.

Senior Kevin Burns led Point Beach with 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, while freshman Jacob Edgecomb chipped in 11 points in the loss.

 

Class B South

Central 38, Brick 30

Sophomore Jaycen Santucci scored 14 points and junior Miles Chevalier added 12 to help the Golden Eagles prevail in a low-scoring struggle with the Green Dragons.

Senior Brandon Farber led Brick with seven points.

Lacey 74, Manchester 66 (OT)

Seniors Troy Buxton and Chris Venturoso combined for 55 points and the Lions outlasted the Hawks for an overtime win.

Buxton scored a game-high 28 points while plucking five rebounds and Venturoso posted 27 points and six rebounds for Lacey. Senior Ryan Fitzgerald added nine points and classmate Dylan Hall turned in seven points and seven assists in the win.

Senior Evan Weiner (20 points and 10 rebounds) and junior Jameer Watts (14 points and 13 rebounds) each posted a double-double, while sophomore Aidan Lunn netted 19 points for Manchester.

Barnegat 60, Pinelands 34

Senior Jamari Smith pumped in a game-high 23 points and the Bengals rolled to a win over the Wildcats.

Junior Shawn Javines struck for 17 points and sophomore Cole Toddings netted 12 for Barnegat.

Junior Gerald Newsome and freshman Josh Barongo each scored nine points to lead Pinelands.

 

Class C South

Shore 45, Jackson Liberty 36

Senior Liam Gajewski carried the offense with a game-high 23 points and the Blue Devils shook off a five-point halftime deficit to upend the Lions.

Senior Richie Studer added nine points for Shore, which grabbed a 32-31 lead by the end of the third quarter.

Sophomore Corey Harnett led Jackson Liberty with nine points.

Donovan Catholic 76, Lakewood 40

Senior Pete Farlekas scored 13 points and classmate Dylan Espineli added 12 as the Griffins routed the Piners with 12 Donovan Catholic players scoring at least two points on at least one made field goal.

Senior Derrick Marsh led Lakewood with 11 points.

Ocean 50, Monmouth 43 (OT)

Sophomore Zayier Dean banked in a game-tying three-pointer with five seconds left in regulation, propelling the Spartans to a road win over the Falcons in front of a standing-room-only crowd at the Falcons Nest.

Dean finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while fellow sophomore Ron Richardson led Ocean with 15 points, 14 rebounds and four assists.

Senior Ta'haj Wiggins scored a game-high 24 points and senior Jake Bauer added 15 to lead Monmouth.

 

Non-Division

St. John Vianney 52, Howell 40

Senior Connor Howard led a balanced St. John Vianney effort with 12 points and five steals and the Lancers nailed down a win over the Rebels.

Senior Kyle Verriest added 11 points, junior Deon Jackson pitched in 10 points and nine rebounds and junior Emanuel Domingo contributed nine points for St. John Vianney.
