Rematch Loser Will Have Season End [LISTEN]

The Jersey Mike’s Game of the Week on the Shore Sports Network takes us to DeFabio Field Friday night as Brick Memorial hosts Jackson Memorial in a Central Jersey Group 4 Playoff game. If that sounds familiar it’s because the same two teams met in the same location last week in the regular-season finale for both, a game that Brick Memorial won 27-21 to clinch a share of the Class A South title (with Central).

The Mustangs jumped out to a 21-0 lead a week ago behind a pair of Blaine Netterman touchdowns, one a 35-yard run and the other a short pass from Tyler Sindel that was turned into a 79-yard scoring play. The visiting Jaguars got on the board just before the end of the first half and had the better of the play in the second half but the big early lead held up and Memorial earned a hard-fought victory.

These teams have played some memorable playoff games in the past and the stage is set for what could be the latest chapter on Friday. The winner moves into the sectional semifinals next weekend against either Long Branch or Middletown South while the loser will have their season come to an abrupt end.
