Hopefully you are on the Princeton bandwagon as the Tigers continue their magic ride tonight in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championships.  The Ivy League champions are the longshot on the board after pulling off a pair of upsets last weekend.  Tonight Princeton will face Creighton in Louisville, Kentucky with the Bluejays a 9 ½ point favorite.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…don’t bet against the Tigers.

Just about every baseball fan has an opinion of the recently-completed World Baseball Classic in which Japan beat the U.S. in the championship game.  I think it is great for baseball but just don’t like this two-week event being held during spring training.  In truth though it only takes place every three years and the bottom line is the players love it.

For those that have not heard former major leaguer Todd Frazier of Toms River will be joining the YES Network as a studio analyst to talk Yankee baseball.  Frazier’s 11-year career included time with the Yankees and he’s a frequent guest on baseball shows and last summer worked for ESPN on the Little League World Series.

I’m sure some of you missed the news that tight end Mike Gesicki had signed a one-year contract with the New England Patriots that could be worth up to $9 million. The former Southern Regional High School three-sport standout spent his first five NFL seasons with the Miami Dolphins following a terrific career at Penn State.

The weather has not been kind to the spring sports season for high school teams and athletes.  Practice for most only began last week and since then we’ve had our share of cold and wet weather.  Most teams have another full week of practices and scrimmages before the regular season begins in early April.

Don’t you just know that when and if the Jets do acquire Aaron Rodgers it won’t work out?  It’s a Jets thing.
