Buy A Sub, Help A Child With Cancer
If ever there was a day to buy a sub and more from Jersey Mike’s then today is it. Not just because they make great sandwiches (which they do) but because today is their annual “Day of Giving” which involves all of their approximately 2,500 locations across the country and is the culmination of the company’s 13th Annual “Month of Giving” fundraising campaign. All sales today will be donated to some 200 local charities…that’s 100% of sales, not just the profit. In previous years the Manasquan-based company has had their individual franchises partner with local charities including hospitals, food banks, youth organizations, the Special Olympics and many others.
Since the inception of this program Jersey Mike’s has raised some than $67 million and that includes a record $20 million donated last year. Founder/CEO Peter Cancro is expecting to surpass that total and help raise up local communities. There is a pretty good chance you have seen Cancro in commercials with comedian Danny DeVito recently inviting everyone to participate while enjoying lunch or dinner.
All 125 locations in New Jersey will donate their sales to the Valerie Fund which supports children with cancer and blood disorders. Day of Giving is the busiest day of the year with each Jersey Mike’s location preparing by adding additional staff and of course ordering extra food.
So today make your plans to visit one of the three dozen locations in Ocean and Monmouth County. Everything your purchase including hot and cold subs, chips, cookies, water and soda will be donated and will make a difference. I have a lot of personal favorites…Club Supreme, Tuna, BLT, and Famous Philly Cheese Steak but tonight for dinner I may go with the Grilled Portabella Mushroom & Swiss. Go big or go home!
