Nondivisional

Manasquan 9, Red Bank Catholic 6

Sophomore attackman Jarrett Birch scored a game-high four goals and assisted on another to fuel a comeback victory by the Warriors (1-1). Red Bank Catholic (0-1) led 5-3 early in the third quarter, but Manasquan scored six straight goals spanning the third and fourth quarters to take the lead and hold on for good.

Joe Tonkovich and Chris Klodowski each scored twice and John Moran added a goal and an assist. Tom Pollock made four saves, all in the second half, to earn the win in goal.

Alex Mintz had two goals and two assists for the Caseys while Liam McArdle, Brett Habich, Tim Barile and James Miele also tallied. Matt Benjamin made four saves.

 

Shore 14, Point Boro 5

Jack Britton and Chris Johnson each had five goals and one assist, with Britton adding 11 ground balls, to lead the Blue Devils (1-0) to victory over the Panthers (0-2). Doug Goldsmith had a goal and five assists along with five ground balls, and James Bedell contributed two goals and two assists. Hunter Abalone made three saves.

Point Boro received goals from Vincent Ceres, Darian Healy, Tom Pickering, Kyler Rossi and Matt Youmans.

 

Nonconference

Southern 10, Egg Harbor Township 3

Chris Smith fired in three goals and Dylan Jinks, Shawn McManus and Nick Simonelli each scored twice to lead the Rams (2-0) to victory in a nonconference game. Simonelli added three assists and McManus contributed a pair of helpers. Brendan Lefanto made 13 saves to pick up the win.

 

Middletown North 18, Edison 2

Ryan Aker and Bryan Flannigan each tallied four goals and two assists and Justin Russo scored three goals with three assists as the Lions blew out Edison in a nonconference game to improve to 2-0. Chris Fisher, Jordan Robinson and Connor Hedlund each scored twice.

 

Howell 8, Randolph 7

Jake Sherman scored four goals, including the eventual game-winner, as the Rebels (2-0) knocked off the Rams in a nonconference road game. Marc Buannic had three goals and three assists, Zach Ornstein scored a goal and Ian Colmorgan (14 saves) and the Howell defense turned in a stellar performance.

 

Summit 9, Rumson-Fair Haven 1

Robbie Garavente scored off a feed from Henry Sillen and Conor Deverin made 10 saves, but the Bulldogs (0-2) fell to the No. 2 state-ranked Hilltoppers on the road.

 

Freehold Township 11, Robbinsville 6

Billy Sasso scored three goals and assisted on three more, and Brandon Nunez had a goal and four assists to power the Patriots (1-1) to a victory over the Ravens. Kevin Patten and John Poole scored twice and Drew Dunn, Mike Ferdinand and Josh Nastarowicz also struck for Freehold Township. Matt Schroepfer made five saves in goal to pick up the win.

 

St. John Vianney 9, East Brunswick 5

Tino D'Amore, Ryan Gilfillan and Richie Mullarkey each scored twice, and Matt Adelfio had a goal and three assists to lead the Lancers (2-0) past the Bears. Tom Hanson and Andrew Poretta also scored while D.J. Soriano made 10 saves. Gilfillan and Kyle Boyle each had a team-high five ground balls.
