Class A North

No. 4 CBA 13, Middletown North 4

Sophomore attackman Nick Casner scored a hat trick and three assists and junior Shay Walscak had three goals and two assists in the Colts' (8-3, 4-1) third straight victory. Mike Carroll, Cologialo Muscara and Ryan Maldalone each scored twice, Nick Gazzillo had four assists and Shane McGuiness had one goal for CBA. Defenseman Joseph Ventura picked up nine ground balls and Evan Bynoe made 13 saves and allowed three goals.

Ryan Aker led the Lions (8-5, 2-3) with two goals.

 

Class A South

Lacey 15, Toms River East 1

Sophomore midfielder Connor Wilson registered a hat trick and senior attackmen Tim Gleason, Lucas Sirotniak and Kiernan Quinn, along with junior midfielder Ryan Mahon and senior midfielder Chris Hofford each scored twice as the Lions (7-4, 2-2) cruised past the Raiders (0-8, 0-4).

Sirotniak also notched three assists while Mahon and senior midfielder Dan McAvoy had two assists. Quinn also had an assist while senior midfielder Scott Muso and sophomore midfielder Nick DeOliveira also found the back of the net. Mike Trezza made six saves.

 

Class B North

No. 8 Ocean 9, St. John Vianney 4

Connor Daly scored a game-high four goals and Sam Hanna tallied twice to lead the Spartans (7-1, 4-1) past the Lancers (4-7, 2-2) for their best start in program history.

Joey Appio and Christian Goslin each finished with a goal and two assists and Erik Rant had a goal and an assist. Zack Karasic had two assists, Steven Graziano picked up seven ground balls and David Walk made eight saves

 

Red Bank 5, Holmdel 4 (OT)

Ryan Gilmartin scored four goals and Cole Smolokoff also scored as the Bucs (5-8, 2-3) kept their postseason hopes alive by outlasting the Hornets (3-6, 2-3) in overtime. Jon Pierce made nine saves.

Tom Rogan scored twice and Justin Ruiz made 19 saves for Holmdel.

 

No. 2 Rumson-Fair Haven 20, Long Branch 0

Henry Sillen's six goals and one assist led the way for the Bulldogs (5-5, 4-0) in their lopsided shutout of the Green Wave (1-10, 0-4). Charlie Curran added two goals and two assists and Robbie Garavente had a goal and five assists.

 

Nondivisional

Jackson Liberty 8, Jackson Memorial 7 (OT)

Junior attackman Matt Ferullo scored four goals, including the game-winning strike early in overtime to lead the Lions to a dramatic and historic victory over the Jaguars on a night where the two programs played to raise awareness for autism.

Ferullo also had two assists and nine ground balls to power Liberty to its first ever win over Memorial. Tyler Kalmowitz, Max Matthies, Dylan O'Connor and Mike Roche also scored for the Lions (6-4). Chris Mulholland made eight saves while Walter Matthies picked up eight ground balls, Chris Stefanowicz scooped up six and Shawn DeJesus had an assist and five ground balls.

Jackson Memorial (4-6) had seven different goal scorers, all of whom also had one assist. Justin Mayers's goal with 51 seconds left in regulation was one of five fourth-quarter goals for the Jaguars and sent the game to overtime. Troy Wolf, Eric Quaranta, Henry Smith, Zack Tetro, Billy Plungis and Jared Calhoun also tallied, while sophomore Dylan Furnback turned aside 14 of 37 Jackson Liberty shots.
