After an earlier exit than it planned for in the Shore Conference Tournament, the Manalapan girls soccer team bounced back in convincing fashion Tuesday by beating Shore Conference Class A North rival Marlboro, 6-2, in the opening round of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV playoffs.

Senior Mya Donnelly scored two goals and assisted three others while Ariella Kaplan chipped in two goals and two assists while helping lead the way for the Braves.

Sophomore Angela Carbonara also scored a goal and added an assisted one, while Jordyn Ferraro added the sixth Manalapan goal.

The Braves fell just short of a Class A North division championship and after earning the No. 4 seed in the Shore Conference Tournament, were ousted by No. 13 Lacey in the Round of 16.

Manalapan will host No. 11 Hillsborough in Friday's Central Jersey Group IV quarterfinals.
