Senior Iris Ancona poured in 31 points to lead the Bucs to a round-one win over the Crimson Knights in the season-opener for both teams.
(3) Donovan Catholic 66, (14) Central 56
Junior Gabriella Ross racked up 27 points and the Griffins warded off the Golden Eagles to advance to the WOBM quarterfinals against No. 6 Red Bank on Dec. 27.
(7) Toms River North 60, (10) Marlboro 57 (OT)
Junior Gia Pissott scored 18 points and the host Mariners battled past the Mustangs and into the WOBM quarterfinals next weekend vs. No. 2 Manasquan. Senior Dani Schlesinger led Marlboro with a game-high 20 points.
(2) Manasquan 51, (15) Brick Memorial 13
Senior Georgia Heine led a balanced Manasquan offense with 10 points as the Warriors cruised past the Mustangs and into the WOBM quarterfinals Dec. 26 vs. No. 7 Toms River North.
(5) Ewing 59, (12) Toms River East 46
Sophomore Rhian Stokes poured in a game-high 20 points to spark the Blue Devils to a win over the Raiders. Sophomore Yana Shupak led Toms River East with 16 points.
(4) Rumson-Fair Haven 57, (13) Middletown South 32
Senior Grace Colucci scored 20 points and junior Julia Corsentino posted 19 to lead the Bulldogs to a round-one win over the Eagles, setting up a quarterfinal meeting with Ewing on Dec. 26.
(9) Colts Neck 40, (8) Manchester 33
Senior Julianna Gibson scored a game-high 15 points and the Cougars knocked out the three-time defending WOBM champions in the first round. Senior Mya Hourigan led Manchester with 13 points.
(1) Red Bank Catholic 78, (16) Toms River South 23
Junior Casey Prior scored 14 points and senior Justine Pissott chipped in 13 to pace the top-seeded Caseys past the Indians and into the WOBM quarterfinals next Sunday vs. Colts Neck.
