Each week over the course of the season, Shore Sports Network and Burger 25 will recognize some of the outstanding performances by players and give readers the chance to pick one as the Player of the Week. The winner will receive a $25 gift card from the popular Toms River restaurant.

Below are this week’s nominees (as provided by the coaches) with some brief highlights as to why they have been nominated. Vote once per hour in the poll at the bottom until voting ends Wednesday at 10 p.m.

Who is the Week 4 Girls Basketball Player of the Week?

Destiny Adams, Manchester

The most dominant player in the shore had another huge week as the Hawks posted a pair of victories.  Adams had 30 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks in an 11-point victory over Life Center and followed that up with 35 points and 28 rebounds as Manchester topped Donovan Catholic in a battle for Ocean County supremacy.

Abby Antognoli, St. Rose

The senior guard has had a tremendous season and continued that in a pair of wins last week. She had 21 points on 10-17 shooting and 4 assists against Ranney and then came back a couple of days later against Holmdel with 24 points on 9-17 shooting and another 4 assists against the Hornets.

Isabella Bednarz, Keyport

The Red Raiders won their first two games of the season by sweeping a pair of close decisions from Asbury Park and the sophomore was a big reason why. In the two victories Bednarz combined for 27 points, 28 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks and 5 steals.  She also made big plays down the stretch to help secure the wins for Keyport.

Dara Grinberg, Manalapan

The sophomore center continues to be a bright spot for the Braves and had a strong three-game week.  She had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks in a loss to Marlboro and the next day collected 11 points, 16 rebounds and 2 blocks against Middletown South.  Grinberg saved her best against Freehold Boro with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks and 4 steals as Manalapan picked up their second win of the season.

Emma Moriarty, Red Bank Regional

She scored 6 of the Bucs 21 total points in a loss to RBC but the senior turned in a solid performance in a win over Middletown South with 19 points (3 3-pointers) and 5 rebounds as Red Bank bounced back with a good win.

Lila Shaver, Point Boro

The senior guard was a huge factor during a 4-0 week for the Panthers.  She scored 26, 13, 20 and 21 points in wins over Brick, Barnegat (twice) and Point Beach.  Shaver hit 11 three-pointers in those four games and added 17 rebounds and 12 steals.
