CLASS A NORTH

Middletown North 13, Neptune 9

Senior attackman Bryan Flannigan scored five goals with two assists and senior midfielder Hayden Fairhurst tallied two goals and three assists to lead the Lions (1-0, 1-0) past the Scarlet Fliers (0-2, 0-1).

Senior attackman Ryan Aker and senior midfielder Khristian Acosta each scored three times with Aker also recording an assist. Anthony Manfredi made 11 saves in goal.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

Manasquan 14, Colts Neck 2

Junior attackman Joe Tonkovich fired in three goals and assisted on five more to lead the Warriors (2-0) past the Cougars (0-2).

Junior attackman Jarrett Birch scored a game-high four goals and freshman attackman Canyon Birch scored three times. Freshman midfielder James Pendergist found the back of the net twice and also had an assist, and junior midfielder Devan Carroll had a goal and two assists.

Senior goalie Tom Pollack made five saves and freshman Mike LaPoint made three saves as the Warriors shut out the Cougars in the second half and in three of the four quarters.

Attackman Vinnie Gargiulo scored both goals for Colts Neck, while senior goalie Andrew Halmi made 18 saves.

 

Southern 11, Holmdel 6

Will Johnson sank five goals and added one assist and Kyle Mulrane had three goals and three assists as the Rams (2-0) out-scored the Hornets 7-0 in the second half en route to the road victory.

Ryan McWhorter scored twice, Jon Manzo taliled once and James Manzo had three assists. Tristen Farina made 15 saves.

Jack Cook had two goals and one assist and Frank Entwistle scored twice for the Hornets (0-1). Billy Dimaio had a goal and an assist. Michael Lubrano made seven saves.

 

Jackson Memorial 14, Donovan Catholic 2

Senior attackman Justin Mayer pumped in five goals and also had three assists as the Jaguars (1-0) overpowered the Griffins (1-1).

Senior midfielder Henry Smith added two goals and two assists and junior attackman Aiden Schell and junior midfielder Dakota Neron each finished with two goals and one assist. Junior midfielder John Chitren also had multiple points with a goal and an assist. Junior goalie Dylan Furnback made 11 saves to earn the win.

 

Wall 17, Red Bank 6

Senior attackman Mike Steppe and sophomore attackman Michael McIntyre each had seven points to lead the way for the Crimson Knights (1-0) in a lopsided victory over the Bucs (0-1). McIntyre had a game-high six goals with one assist and Steppe added five goals and two assists.

Junior attackman Christopher Stone scored twice and senior midfielder Casey Foley had a goal and two assists. Sophomore midfielder Ryan Kellett had two assists and senior Zachary Harrell made five saves. Freshman long-stick midfielder Shane Meyler had a team-high seven ground balls.

Senior attackman Cole Smolokoff led Red Bank with four goals and senior goalie Jon Pierce made 16 saves.

 

Ocean 7, Middletown South 4

Senior midfielder Erik Rant scored four goals and picked up seven ground balls to lead the Spartans (2-0) pat the Eagles (0-1).

Senior Connor Daley added two goals and one assist and junior Sam Hanna had three assists. Junior goalie David Walk made eight saves

 

Jackson Liberty 13, Howell 6

Senior Matt Ferullo led the way with four goals and an assist as the Lions (2-0) powered past the Rebels (0-2).

Christian Pongracz had two goals and one assist and Randy Vengen also scored twice for Jackson Liberty. Walter Matthies and Dylan O'Connor chipped in with one goal and one assist each. Thomas Ferullo and Chris Stefanowicz each picked up five ground balls. Chris Mulholland made four saves.

 

Point Boro 15, Long Branch 1

Matt Schwartz had three goals and one assist and Courtland Hackel and Nik Christakis also scored three times as the Panthers (1-1) cruised to a victory over the Green Wave (0-2).

Trevor McNamara added a pair of goals and Kyler Rossi added a goal and two assists.

Ygor Da Silva scored the lone goal for Long Branch.
