Red Bank Catholic rising senior linebacker Jamie Gordinier announced on Twitter Tuesday night that he has verbally committed to play for the University of Miami under head coach Al Golden, who is an RBC graduate.

Gordinier was one of the most highly-sought members of the Shore Conference Class of 2015 and had 20 other FBS offers from the likes of Michigan State, Virginia, West Virginia, Rutgers, Northwestern, Duke, Cincinnati, and Boston College. Miami had been a front-runner the most of the way along with Boston College, and currently includes long-snapper Frank Gabriel and wide receiver Greg Golden, the coach's nephew, who are both RBC graduates. Also, Matt Golden, a tight end for the Caseys this season, is headed to be a preferred walk-on at Miami for his uncle.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Gordinier, who also played tight end for RBC, was a Shore Sports Network first-team All-Shore selection this past fall for the Shore Conference's No. 1 team.

An All-Class A Central pick by the coaches, Gordinier finished with 86 tackles, 8 pass break-ups, 8 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks while seeing time at linebacker and defensive end on the best defense in the Shore Conference. He had 9 tackles in a win over South Jersey Group III semifinalist Manasquan, registered 12 tackles  and a tackle for a loss in a state playoff win over Immaculata, and then had 11 tackles against the state’s top team, St. Joseph-Montvale, in the Non-Public Group III semifinals.
