A pair of newcomers helped the top-ranked Eagles (1-0, 1-0) storm past the Caseys (0-1, 0-1) and spoil the return of Frank Edgerly to the RBC sideline.
Senior quarterback Aneesh Agrawal, a Holmdel transfer, got the start and threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Jeremy Joyce while also running for a 4-yard score. Sophomore running back Anthony Summey, who transferred from Red Bank Catholic during the preseason, scored on touchdown runs of 34 and 27 yards as the Eagles pulled away in the second half.
Senior Maxx Imsho had a 48-yard touchdown run and also returned a fumble 30 yards for a touchdown. Ryan Ruzieki added a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Red Bank Catholic scored on the opening drive when quarterback Tom Lang hit Max Hazard for a 5-yard score. Sophomore quarterback Steve Lubischer added a 5-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
