Senior quarterback Mike Hunsi threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 80 yards and two more touchdowns to set multiple records and lead the top-ranked Mariners (8-0, 6-0) past the rival Indians (2-5, 2-4) in “The Civil War”.

Husni threw touchdown passes to senior wide receivers Bryce Watts and Darrion Carrington, had a 12-yard touchdown run and a 27-yard touchdown run. Watts finished with four catches for 124 yards. Senior running back Parker Day ran for 129 yards and three touchdowns. Freshman Nasir Calhoun added a rushing touchdown.

Sam Conover and Cooper Guzzi had rushing touchdowns for Toms River South.

Husni needed 54 yards rushing to become the first player in Shore Conference history to have 1,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in three straight seasons, and accomplished that by running for 80 yards. In throwing his 19th and 20th touchdown passes of the season he broke Anthony Penna’s program single-season record. He also became Toms River North’s all-time leader in touchdowns with 97.
