Hill, whose brother, Larry, is a former head coach and assistant at Asbury Park, was an assistant under Dave Ellis last season at Freehold Boro. He takes over for Keith Killea, who stepped down for personal reasons after one season with the Blue Bishops, leading them to a 7-4 finish and a trip to the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group I semifinals.

Hill was the head coach at Toms River South from 2008-10, finishing with a record of 7-23 in his three seasons. As a player, he starred at Howell as a running back in the 1970s and has formerly been an assistant at Lakewood, Jackson Memorial and Asbury Park.

Hill's hiring leaves openings at Wall, Holmdel, and Asbury Park's long-time Thanksgiving rival, Neptune, in the Shore Conference.
