This week’s “Turning Point of the Game”:

Aiming to take a two-possession lead into halftime against 4-0 Toms River North, Red Bank Catholic was driving late in the first half. With a 1st and goal at the two-yard line and the clock ticking down below one minute, the Caseys had a perfect opportunity to find the end zone and take all of the momentum into the locker room. Lined up in a Power-I formation, senior QB Ryan Edgerly took the snap from under center and rolled out to his left on a Waggle play. Defensive back Jaiden Fraser bit on a quick pump-fake which created a lane for Edgerly to find senior Kevin Bauman in the end zone for a touchdown. The two-yard pass and ensuing extra point gave RBC a 13-0 lead, with the Caseys eventually pulling off a 21-6 upset over the Mariners. For their efforts, Edgerly and Bauman will each receive a gift card from Turning Point breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

Be sure and look every week for “The Turning Point of the Game.
