Senior Alex Stanyek belted a two-run home run and sophomore Dylan Passo crushed a grand slam to cap the scoring in the bottom of the sixth as the Caseys rolled through the Braves and into the MCT quarterfinals.

Hunter Del Guercio (2-for-3) and Zaine Toneske (1-for-3) each drove in three runs and the Colts bounced back from their first loss of the season Tuesday against Middletown North by beating the Lions on Wednesday.

Wyatt Hunt went 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored and Matt DiFeo was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored in the win.

Brennan O'Keefe allowed one run on four hits and three walks with nine strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings and 94 pitches to earn the win. After Danny DiTullio recorded the last two outs of the sixth inning and Toneske struck out the side in the seventh inning.

Joe Sestito delivered a pinch-hit RBI single to plate the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Purple Roses won a back-and-forth battle to hand the Garnet Gulls their first loss.

Point Beach scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to take a 3-2 lead, with Noah Banick lining a game-tying RBI single to right field and Bryan Matuschat flipping a go-ahead sacrifice fly into right field.

St. Rose scored the tying run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Peter Nolan.
