(22) Matawan 10, (11) Colts Neck 7

Junior Andrew Gendi hit a tiebreaking two-run double and classmate Bryan McCartin followed with a two-run triple to highlight a five-run sixth that carried the Huskies to a first-round win over the Cougars.

Junior Sean Hart hit a game-tying RBI double in the top of the fifth inning an added a sacrifice fly in the sixth that made the score 10-5.

Colts Neck took a 3-1 lead on a three-run double by senior Tyler Spencer in the bottom of the first and regained a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the third on a two-run triple by junior Anthony Vallaro.

Matawan advances to the MCT round of 16 for a meeting with No. 6 Howell at a date and time to be determined.

Jackson Memorial 13, Brick 9

After surrendering nine unanswered runs between the second and fifth innings, the Jaguars scored nine unanswered of their own over the final two to complete another significant, late-inning comeback against the Green Dragons after coming back from an 8-0 deficit to beat Brick, 16-10, on Friday.

Junior Nick Izzo jumpstarted the rally with a pinch-hit two-run home run in the top of the sixth to cut Brick's lead to 9-6.

Senior Aidan O'Donnell cut the deficit to 9-6 with an RBI single in the seventh and sophomore Brady Wendell delivered another big hit off the Jackson Memorial bench with a game-tying two-run single.

Senior Nick Mellino worked a bases-loaded walk that gave Jackson Memorial a 10-9 lead -- the first of four bases-loaded walks that gave the Jaguars their final four runs.

Senior Will Meade collected a two-run single to highlight Brick's five-run third inning that gave the Green Dragons an 8-4 lead.

Senior Elijah Kiernan broke the game open with a bases-clearing triple on a 0-2 count in the top of the sixth as the Golden Eagles blanked the Raiders for their fourth straight win after starting the season 0-2.

Kiernan's triple was part of a six-run third that also included RBI singles by junior Cristian Soto, senior Trevor Policastro and junior Gavin Arieno.

Henry Hudson 19, Asbury Park 0 (5 Innings)

Hayden Kurdes, Aiden Winters and Nick Bigotto each went 4-for-4 and three Henry Hudson pitchers combined on a no-hitter as the Admirals swung their way to a win over the Blue Bishops.

Kurdes doubled, tripled and drove in a game-high four RBI, while Winters and Bigotto each driving in two, with Winters also roping a double. Chris Parmigiani and Eddie Payne each went 2-for-2 with three RBI, with Parmigiani also collecting a double.

Winters, Bigotto and Nick Dowd combined on the no-hitter, which was an error away from being a perfect game. Winters and Bigotto each struck out five in two innings of work, while Dowd struck out the side in the fifth to close it out.

Shaun O'Keefe struck out nine with no walks over five shutout innings and both Dave Yorke and Ryan Butchko drove in three runs apiece and the Griffins (6-1, 6-0) continued to roll in divisional play with a sweep of the Lions (5-3, 4-2).

Butchko tripled home a run in a two-run first and singled home two in Donovan Catholic's five-run fifth. Yorke, meanwhile, capped the scoring with a three-run home run in the top of the fifth.

Junior Tyler Levine also picked up an RBI with a first-inning single and senior Gavin Degnan went 1-for-3 with a double and two runs scored for Donovan Catholic.
