No. 1 Ranney 3, Bishop Eustace 0

Nick Coniglio replaced injured starting pitcher A.J. Gracia in the top of the second inning and pitched six shutout innings of relief to carry the Panthers to a win over the Crusaders.

Gracia reported tightness in his left bicep, according to Ranney coach Pat Geroni and remained in the game as the centerfielder. The senior Duke commit pitched a scoreless first inning with a walk and a strikeout and later ignited Ranney's first run-scoring rally with a line-drive double to leftfield leading off the bottom of the third.

Senior Diego Tavarez bunted Gracia to third base and fifth-year senior Brett Wehringer plated Gracia by executing a safety squeeze bunt.

Both innings in which Bishop Eustace advanced runners to scoring position came as the result of Ranney errors, of which the Panthers committed two in the game. After he stranded the bases loaded in the top of the fifth, Coniglio struck out the side in the top of the sixth to fire up the Panthers dugout.

In the bottom of the sixth, Tavarez reached on a bunt single and senior Jack Tallent launched a two-run home run to right-center to extend the Ranney lead to 3-0.

No. 2 Red Bank Catholic 5, Gloucester Catholic 2

Senior Alex Stanyek allowed one run and struck out seven in five innings on the mound and also drove in two at the plate as the Caseys held off the Rams to capture their seventh straight win.

Stanyek tied the game with an RBI double off the fence in center in the bottom of the third inning and senior Frank Scrivanic followed with a two-run double to put Red Bank Catholic ahead, 3-1.

In the bottom of the fifth, Alex Stanyek extended the lead to 4-1 with an RBI single and junior Matt Brunner smacked an RBI single to right later in the inning to cap the Caseys scoring.

Junior Declan Leary closed out the game by pitching a scoreless sixth and limited the damage to one run in the seventh inning.
