Jackson Memorial 3, Kingsway 2
Senior Aidan O'Donnell doubled off Coastal Carolina commit Landon Edwards to lead off the bottom of the sixth and scored the winning run on a throwing error to complete a Jaguars comeback win over the Dragons -- ranked No. 9 in the latest statewide rankings by NJ Advance Media.
After O'Donnell's leadoff double, sophomore Tyler Huzzy dropped down a bunt, beat it out for an infield single and the errant throw allowed O'Donnell to race home with the tiebreaking run.
Junior Nick Izzo picked up his first win in his first appearance on the mound, pitching two innings of scoreless relief. Jackson Memorial's bullpen pitched 6 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to quiet Kingsway, led by senior Tommy Mazzella's 3 2/3 innings of bulk work and closed out by fifth-year senior Dean Daddio.
Kingsway jumped on top, 2-0, in the top of the first inning and Jackson Memorial pulled even with a two-run bottom of the third. Senior Matt Koblos singled home the first run and O'Donnell worked a bases-loaded walk to force in the tying run.
