Class A North
No. 9 Middletown South 6, No. 6 Howell 1
Senior Ben Schild homered in each of his first two at-bats on the way to a five-RBI game and the Eagles upended the Rebels to snap their second three-game losing streak during the early part of the season.
Schild belted a three-run home run in the top of the first inning -- his first round-tripper since he homered in Middletown South's NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV win over Hunterdon Central as a sophomore in 2021. The UConn commit then slammed a solo shot in the top of the third and later added a sacrifice fly in the sixth to cap his five-RBI performance.
