Senior Hunter Dorsey scored two goals in the final 16 minutes, both off passes from senior George Gartner and the Lions (6-1, 4-1) shut out the Mustangs (2-3-1, 2-2-1) for their fifth straight win. Dorsey gave Lacey a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 65th minute and scored again in the 79th to put the game away. Senior Bobby Considine saved six shots to seal his fifth shutout of the season.

 

Class B Central

St. Rose 4, Keyport 0

Four different players scored a goal for St. Rose and the Purple Roses (4-2, 4-1) blanked the Red Raiders (0-4, 0-4). Ethan Bodine, MIke Gowen, Jonathan Caputo and Brendan Smith each tallied a goal for St. Rose.

Point Beach 0, Mater Dei Prep 0

No. 2 Shore 4, Asbury Park 1

Junior Dante Montesinos scored two goals and senior J.T. Kessler added a goal and an assist to lead the Blue Devils (7-0, 5-0) to their seventh straight win to open the season.

Freshman Mike Adams scored his first career goal to cap the scoring and Luckenson Joseph scored the lone Asbury Park (2-4, 2-3) goal on a pass from WoodJerry Cetoute.

 

Class B South

Central 7, Manchester 0

Senior Shane Cranstoun led a Central scoring barrage with two goals and the Golden Eagles (2-1-2, 2-1-1) coasted to a win over the Hawks (0-6, 0-5). Senior Jake Dufner, sophomore Mike Cambra, senior, junior Vince Nelson, junior Cory Carsten and junior Youseff Abdelaziz all added a goal in the win.

Donovan Catholic 1, Barnegat 0

Alec Mapoy scored four minutes into the match on a pass from Matt Dalton and the Griffins (2-2-2, 2-1-2) edged the Bengals (2-5, 1-4) behind a shutout in goal by Evan Root.

 

Non-Conference

No. 1 CBA 2, Don Bosco 0

Matt Thorsheim scored a goal in each half and goalkeeper Aedan Boriotti saved a penalty kick in the 52nd minute to help the Colts (6-1) top the Ironmen (3-3).

Thorsheim scored on a quick restart 10 minutes into the game - a 25-yard direct kick that he hit before Don Bosco could set its defense. He later scored in the 69th after taking a pass from Pat Kollman, turning past a defender and drilling a shot past keeper Moritz Eisold inside the near post.

Eisold saved a penaly kick by Thorsheim in the 62nd minute to momentarily keep the Don Bosco deficit at 1.
