Sophomore Jack Gill recorded his first career hat trick and the Colts (6-0, 5-0) breezed past the Rebels (0-4, 0-4) for their sixth straight win to open the season.

Seniors Tom Judge and T.J. Farr each added a goal and senior Matt Thorsheim dished out three assists.

Freehold Boro 3, No. 6 Colts Neck 0

Freshman Phil Franco and senior Andy Rizo each scored first-half goals and junior Jake Brower capped the win with a goal in the 60th as the Colonials (3-4, 3-2) knocked off the Cougars (4-2, 3-2). Rizo - Freehold's leading scorer each of the past two seasons - was making his second start of the season after sitting out the first five with a hamstring injury.

No. 3 Marlboro 2, No. 9 Freehold Twp. 1

Senior Steven Karp scored the game's first goal in the 54th minute off a pass from senior Josh Grun and senior Jared Markowitz tacked on another in the 64th to lead the Mustangs (5-1, 4-1) to a win over the Patriots (3-3, 2-3).

Senior Kyle Trainor converted a penalty kick in the 69th to pull Freehold Township within 2-1.

Manalapan 5, Neptune 0

Four different Manalapan players scored their first varsity goal and the Braves (2-2-1, 2-2-0) blanked the Scarlet Fliers (0-4, 0-4). Seniors Adam Brodsky and Jon Karlin and sophomores D'Angelo Reyes and Justin Goldberg all scored their first goals and senior Rocky Garretson also scored a goal to goal with two assists for Manalapan.

 

Class A Central

Holmdel 4, Rumson-Fair Haven 1

Sophomore Anthony Arena scored two goals and the Hornets (3-1-1, 2-1-1) raced out to a 4-0 lead en route to a win over the Bulldogs (1-4, 1-3).

Junior Mikey Neff and senior Leo Nobrega each added a goal for Holmdel. Senior Connor Deverin scored the lone Rumson goal in the 74th minute.

Raritan 3, Red Bank 0

Senior Alec Fortune scored two minutes into the second half to break a scoreless tie and added another goal in the 51st to spark the unbeaten Rockets (6-0-1, 3-0-1) to a win over the Bucs (0-4-1, 0-3-1).

Junior Nick Benoit assisted the second goal by Fortune and later scored in the 70th minute off a pass from junior Tom Savin. Senior Dan Del Russo assisted Fortune's first goal.

No. 8 Shore at St. John Vianney - Moved to Thursday, 6:30 p.m.

 

Class B North

No. 5 Middletown North 5, Monmouth 0

Senior Ryan Harmon scored two goals and assisted another while senior Justin McKenna and junior Ryan Binn each added a goal and an assist to lead the Lions (4-0-1, 4-0-0) to a win over the Falcons (1-6, 1-4). Senior Elliot De La Rosa also scored a goal in the win.

No. 4 Ocean 2, Middletown South 0

Sophomores Erick Vasquez and James Schutz each scored a goal and the Spartans (5-0, 4-0) beat the Eagles (3-3-1, 2-2-1) to add to their perfect start to the season.

Wall 5, Red Bank Catholic 0

Five different Wall players scored a goal to help the Crimson Knights (2-3-2, 2-1-2) coast past the Caseys (0-6, 0-5). Senior Dan Frisch-Harmon, junior Jeremy Thompson, senior Dakota Dobrovich-Fago, senior Ryan Gordon and senior Gavin Savage each scored a goal in the win.

Manasquan 3, Long Branch 2

Juniors Ryan Flanagan and Chris Black scored the last two of three first-half goals and the Warriors (3-2-1, 3-1-1) rode a fast start to a win over the Green Wave (1-5, 1-4). Senior goalkeeper Jack Long assisted Flanagan's goal with a long punt and made two critical saves in the final minutes to preserve the lead.

Dulio Guerrero scored the first Manasquan goal off a feed from Fin Cuozza. Long Branch pulled within 2-1 on a goal by Renan Acevedo and Gabe Viera cut it to 3-2 with a goal in the 54th.
