Southern 1, Jackson Memorial 0 (OT)

Junior Ethan Leming scored the golden goal off an assist from senior Luke Kretschmer during the second overtime period and the Rams (3-1, 2-1) upended the Jaguars (2-2, 1-2) for their third straight win since and opening-night loss to Toms River North.

Brick 3, Brick Memorial 2

Junior Frank Firrito scored two goals and senior Steve Castenado added another to help the Green Dragons (1-3, 1-2) beat the Mustangs (0-4, 0-3) for their first win of the season.

Toms River North 1, Central 0

Senior Brandon Copeland scored in the 37th minute and the Mariners (3-1, 3-0) maintained their perfect record in A South while handing the Golden Eagles (3-1, 2-1) their first loss.

No. 2 Toms River South 2, Toms River East 1

Sophomore Clem Slavick scored the winning goal in the 62nd minute and the Indians (3-0, 3-0) edged the Raiders (0-3, 0-3) to remain unbeaten. Slavick drilled a shot from 18 yards out after the ball bounced out following a corner kick.

Junior Isaiah Dominguez scored off a Ben Brown corner kick in the 24th to give Toms River South a 1-0 lead before junior Santino Celebre equalized for Toms River East in the 33rd off a pass from Ryan LaBell.

 

Class B Central

Ranney 3, Mater Dei Prep 0

Senior Brendan Wall scored two goals and senior Shane Keenan added another as the Panthers (4-0, 3-0) beat the the Seraphs (0-3, 0-2) for their fourth straight win to open the season. Senior Noah Ayers earned his second consecutive shutout in goal.

Point Beach 3, Henry Hudson 0

Junior Mike Ciorlian scored two goals and sophomore Ryan Brodeur added a third for the Garnet Gulls (1-2, 1-2), who blanked the Admirals (2-2, 0-2) for their first win of the season. Ciorlian's first goal came on a penalty kick, sophomore Ki Costa assisted the second and freshman George Kaiafas assisted Brodeur's goal. Sophomore Eric Monticello picked up the shutout in goal.

Asbury Park 5, St. Rose 1

Junior Davensky JoinVilmar scored three goals and assisted another and the Blue Bishops (3-0, 3-0) erupted for four second-half goals to roll to a road win over the Purple Roses (3-1, 2-1). Widmaier Beaubrun and Ronald JeanVilma each added a goal and Eben Landau assisted on goals by JoinVilmar and JeanVilma.

 

Class B South

Lacey 2, Lakewood 1 (OT)

Senior Kevin Miller scored the golden goal five minutes into overtime and the Lions (2-2, 2-1) pulled out a road win over the Piners (0-4, 0-3).

Sophomore Junior Bravo pulled Lakewood even with a goal in the 68th minute. Lacey jumped in front with a goal by junior Riley Hunt in the 12th off a feed from sophomore Kip Byrne, who also assisted the winner by Miller.

Pinelands 5, Manchester 1

Senior Matt O'Connell scored three of his four goals in the first half for his third hat trick in four games and Kieran Sundermann added a goal and two assists to lead the Wildcats (3-1, 3-0) to a win over the Hawks (1-2, 1-2).

Point Boro 3, Jackson Liberty 0

Donovan Catholic 3, Barnegat 1

Junior Anthony Scotto scored two goals and the Griffins (2-0-2, 2-0-1) held off the Bengals (2-2, 1-2) for their second straight win after two draws to open the season.

Senior Justin Alves scored the other Donovan Catholic goal and junior Ryan Flaherty scored to pull Barnegat within 2-1 in the 43rd minute. Scotto's second goal stretched the Donovan lead to 3-1 in the 55th.
