No. 1 CBA 2, Manalapan 1

Senior Matt Thorsheim scored the first CBA goal and assisted the second one by senior Matt Mawson as the Colts (9-0, 6-0) built a two-goal cushion, held on to beat the Braves (2-5-1, 2-5-0) and won a ninth straight game to open the season.

No. 9 Colts Neck 1, Howell 0

Senior Louis Reale scored the game's lone goal in the third minute and the Cougars (5-3, 4-3) snapped a two-game skid by upending the Rebels (1-6, 1-6). Reale drilled a shot from the top of the 18-yard box after Michael Martino ripped a shot off the post.

No. 10 Freehold Twp. 3, No. 8 Freehold Boro 2

Senior Adrian Barajas scored a goal in each half to break a 1-1 tie and lead the Patriots (5-3, 4-3) to a win over the crosstown rival Colonials (4-5, 4-3). Barajas scored both goals off passes from sophomore Chris Orrico.

Freehold Township pulled even with a goal by senior Kyle Trainor after senior Andy Rizo gave Freehold Boro a 1-0 lead in the opening minutes. Kevin Manzano later scored to cut Freehold Township's lead to 3-2 and Jake Brower assisted both Colonials goals.

No. 2 Marlboro 3, Neptune 1

P.J. Ringel, Steven Karp and Brian Dates each scored and the Mustangs (7-1, 6-1) upended the Scarlet Fliers (0-6, 0-6) for their sixth straight win. Ringel also assisted the goal by Karp and Dates set up Ringel's score.

Sophomore Wilby Alfred scored the lone Neptune goal to slice the Marlboro lead to 3-1 in the 75th minute.

 

Class A Central

Holmdel 1, Raritan 0

Junior Mikey Neff slammed a shot past Raritan keeper Chad Santopadre in the 60th minute off a Leo Nobrega cross and the Hornets (5-1-1, 4-1-1) made the one goal count in a win over the previously unbeaten Rockets (6-1-2, 3-1-2).

Rumson-Fair Haven 2, Shore 0

Senior Jack Balestro and junior George Sellig each scored and the Bulldogs (2-5, 2-4) blanked the Blue Devils (3-2-4, 2-1-3) to snap a five-game skid.

Red Bank 1, Matawan 0 (OT)

Senior Chris Fuentes chested the ball down near the top of the 18-yard box and drilled a shot to the lower right side of the goal in the final minute of the second overtime to give the Bucs (2-4-1, 2-3-1) a win over the Huskies (5-2-1, 4-2-1).

Since starting the season 0-4, Red Bank is 2-0-1 over its last three games. Matawan, meanwhile, saw its six game unbeaten streak (5-0-1) come to an end.

 

Class B North

No. 5 Ocean 6, Red Bank Catholic 0

Manasquan 1, No. 3 Middletown North 0 (OT)

Sophomore Matt Drake scored the golden goal in the 96th minute off a Dulio Guerrero feed and the Warriors (6-2-1, 5-1-1) knocked off the Lions (5-1-1, 5-1-0), handing Middletown North its first loss.

Middletown South 1, Monmouth 0 (OT)

Junior Christian Sigua scored the golden goal off a pass from Brendan Magner and the Eagles (4-4-1, 3-3-1) pulled out a win over the Falcons (1-8, 1-6).

Wall 2, Long Branch 1

Callum Price converted a direct kick to equalize in the 77th minute and Reilly Powers headed in a corner kick by Dakota Dobrivich-Fago with 1:30 left to rally the Crimson Knights (4-3-1, 4-1-2) past the Green Wave (2-6, 2-5) with two goals in the final four minutes.

Alex Tabisz gave Long Branch a 1-0 with a first-half goal.

 

Class B Central

Ranney 2, St. Rose 1

Brendan Wall scored the game-winning goal on an assist from Shane Keenan and the Panthers (6-3, 5-1) snapped a three-game losing streak by beating the Purple Roses (6-3, 4-2). Austin Dobrzynski scored the first Ranney goal on a feed from Asher Kraut.

Matty O'Malley scored the lone St. Rose goal.
