Jose Silva scored two goals in the first half and Jack LeMunyon added a score in the second half as the Colonials (4-6-1, 4-6-0) blanked the Eagles (1-11, 1-9) for their third straight win.

No. 7 CBA 1, No. 5 Freehold Twp. 0

Russell Romano scored the game's lone goal in the 33rd minute and the Colts (8-3, 8-3) edged the Patriots (7-3, 7-3) to move into second place in Class A North with their sixth straight win.

No. 8 Middletown North 4, Howell 2

Ryan Harmon, Jim Kelly and Noah Grant each scored a goal in the first half and the Lions (5-4-2, 5-3-2) beat the Rebels (2-8-1, 2-7-1) to climb above .500 for the first time this season.

No. 2 Manalapan 3, Marlboro 0

Miles Schindler and Rob Pratka scored goals in the first seven minutes and Mitchell Volis tacked on a second-half goal as the Braves (8-1-1, 7-1-1) coasted to a win over the Mustangs (5-6, 4-6). Volis also assisted Schindler's goal in the third minute to open the scoring.

 

Class A Central

Rumson-Fair Haven 2, St. John Vianney 0

Jamie Martin and Jack Luby each scored a goal and the Bulldogs (4-6-1, 4-3-1) beat the Lancers (4-3, 4-3) to stay in the hunt for a Shore Conference Tournament birth. Sophomore Markar Krikorian earned his first career varsity shutout in goal.

Holmdel 3, Manasqaun 0

Menos Hiras scored the lone goal Holmdel would need in the 19th minute and the Hornets (5-6, 5-4) and goalkeeper Tyler Marchiano shut out the Warriors (7-5-1, 4-3-1). Gino D'Agostino scored on a direct kick in the 24th minute to put Holmdel ahead 2-0 and Brendan Wall scored off a pass from Hunter Chapman to cap the scoring in the 78th minute. Chapman also assisted Hiras' goal as part of a two-assist game.

Matawan 4, Raritan 0

Four different Matawan players scored a goal and the Huskies (9-2, 7-2) rolled to a win over the Rockets (2-9-1, 0-9-0) to increase their lead in the Class A Central standings thanks, also, to losses by Manasquan and St. John Vianney. Sophomores Juris Stutts and Charlie Costello each scored a goal, while senior Alex Cell and junior Bronson Dhume also contributed a goal apiece. Dhume also added an assist for Matawan.

 

 

Class B North

Colts Neck 4, Red Bank Catholic 1

Taylor Demick assisted a goal by Kevin Murch to open the scoring in the 16th minute and scored in the 36th to help jump-start a Cougars (6-5, 5-3) win over the Caseys (2-8, 2-6). Colton LaLima scored 1:20 into the second half to stretch Colts Neck's lead to 3-0 and Mike Martinho capped the scoring in the 70th on a pass from Louis Reale. Josh Fox also added an assist for Colts Neck.

Bryan Andrew scored the lone Red Bank Catholic goal on a pass from Jack Pelech in the 65th to trim the Colts Neck lead to 3-1.

Ocean 3, No. 6 Red Bank 1

Marlhens Nasanes scored two goals and Wadeson Alexis added another to help lead the Spartans (6-5-1, 6-2-1) to a win over the Bucs (8-3, 6-3), clinching a regular-season sweep of Red Bank and pushing Ocean into sole possession of first place in Class B North.

Nasanes got behind the defense when he ran down a pass by Joe Abrams and finished for the game's first goal in the 21st minute. After Justin Delaney headed in a cross from Randy Bohler in the 28th to even the score, Wadneson Alexis scored on a textbook strike off a failed clearance to give Ocean the lead back in the 33rd minute.

Ocean added an insurance tally when Nasanes walked his second goal into the net after Teddy Eugenis beat Red Bank goalkeeper Connor Kelly to the ball and sent it toward the end-line. Alexis set up the play with a diagonal ball that lead Eugenis to a dangerous spot inside the 18-yard box on the right side.

Long Branch 6, Neptune 0

Guilherme DeNovaes scored two goals to lead the Green Wave (7-4, 4-3) to a win over the Scarlet Fliers (1-10-1, 0-9-0). Manny Camacho also had a goal and an assist, while freshman Juan Carlos Merino added two assists. Gibrahnny Padilla opened the scoring with a goal in the first minute, while Sam Hernandez and Gregory Borba each added a score for Long Branch.
