Senior Tommy Boyle converted a penalty kick in the 56th minute for the game's lone goal and the Colonials (2-2, 2-1) held on to top the Braves (1-2, 1-2).

Junior Jake Brower drew the foul inside the 18-yard box to earn the penalty kick. Sophomore Brendan Duffy saved save shots to pick up the shutout.

No. 1 CBA 6, No. 7 Colts Neck 0

Aaron Robertson scored the first goal of the game in the fifth minute and capped the scoring in the 72nd with his second score as the Colts (3-0, 3-0) hammered the Cougars (2-1, 2-1). Senior Patrick Kollman added a goal and an assist, while senior Matt Thorsheim, sophomore Jack Gill and senior Matt Mawson also added a goal apiece

No. 10 Freehold Twp. 4, Neptune 0

Senior Andrew DiBella, senior Chris Orrico and junior Alex Langa each scored a goal and the Patriots (2-1, 2-1) coasted to a win over the Scarlet Fliers (0-3, 0-3).

No. 3 Marlboro 1, Howell 0

Senior P.J. Ringel scored the lone goal and senior goalkeeper James Weinberg saved a penalty kick to help the Mustangs (2-1, 2-1) edge the Rebels (0-3, 0-3).

 

Class A Central

Holmdel 1, No. 5 Shore 1

Senior Matt Dutra scored the equalizer when his shot was mishandled near the goal and the Blue Devils (1-0-3, 1-0-2) pulled out their third straight draw by taking the Hornets (1-1-1, 1-1-1) the distance.

Sophomore Mark McStay gave Holmdel the 1-0 lead in the 65th after sophomore Anthony Arena played him through for a breakaway.

Matawan 1, No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 0

Senior Tyler Chin scored the winning goal off a long throw-in by senior Ryan Cavanaugh in the 65th minute and the Huskies (3-1, 3-1) won their third straight game by knocking off the No. 9 Bulldogs (1-1, 1-1).

St. John Vianney 3, Red Bank 2

Senior Nick Ruggerio scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute to break a 2-2 tie and give the Lancers (1-3, 1-3) a win over the Bucs (0-2, 0-2) - their first of the season and the first for first-year coach Kyle Kane.

Senior John Caracappa scored on a penalty kick in the 28th minute and senior Kyle Tuschmann added a goal in the 52nd to put the Lancers ahead, 2-0.

 

Class B North

Middletown South 2, Red Bank Catholic 1

Freshman Danny Minze scored a first-half equalizer and assisted the go-ahead goal by junior Mike Zito to help the Eagles (2-1-1, 1-1-1) grab the lead by halftime and beat the Caseys (0-3, 0-3).

Junior Sebastian Pena scored off a pass from sophomore Alex Nichols to stake RBC to an early 1-0 lead.

No. 6 Wall 3, Monmouth 0

Senior Dan Frisch-Harmon scored two goals - the opener and the capper - and the Crimson Knights (1-2-1, 1-1-1) blanked the Falcons (0-4, 0-3) for their first win of the season. Sophomore Riley Powers chipped in the second Wall goal.

No. 4 Middletown North 2, Long Branch 0

Senior Ryan Harmon scored the game's first goal within a second of the halftime whistle and the Lions (3-0, 3-0) topped the Green Wave (1-2, 1-2) for their third straight win to open the season.

John Donncenzo added an insurance goal in the second half and senior goalkeeper Scott Weigel picked up his third shutout in as many games. Junior Liam McGregor assisted both goals.

No. 8 Ocean 2, Manasquan 1

Senior Ian Dwyer scored the winning goal nine minutes into the second half off a pass from senior Tom Amato and the Spartans (3-0, 3-0) edged the Warriors (2-1, 2-1) to remain unbeaten to open the season.

Senior Jordan Ornowski opened the scoring for Ocean in the third minute on a Brandon Holland assist before sophomore Finn Cuozza tied it for Manasquan in the ninth.

 

Non-Division

Raritan 2, Keyport 0

Senior Dan Del Russo scored the go-ahead goal in the 65th minute and tacked on an insurance tally two minutes later to lift the Rockets (4-0) to a win over the Red Raiders (0-4).
