Freehold 3, Howell 0

Anthony Matteo scored a goal and handed out an assist and Dom Matteo dished out two assists of his own as the Colonials (3-6-1, 3-6-0) beat the Rebels (2-7-1, 2-6-1) and win their second straight.

Anthony Matteo opened the scoring in the 19th minute off a pass from Dom and Anthony then assisted a goal by Jack LeMunyon in the 25th to put Freehold ahead, 2-0, going to the half. Dom Matteo set up Matt Marinella's goal in the 53rd minute to cap the scoring.

No. 5 Freehold Twp. 4, Marlboro 0

The Patriots (7-2, 7-2) racked up four first-half goals and cruised to a win over the Mustangs (5-5, 4-5) for their third straight win. Tim O'Donnell walked in the first goal in the 10th minute off a Kyle Czajkowski through-ball and Jaso Czajkowski struck less than a minute later off a set-up by Mark Fasano.

Mike Maltese flicked in a header off a cross to the near post by Jason Czajkowski to make it 3-0 in the 19th minute and sophomore Sean O'Connell scored his second goal in as many games to cap the scoring in the 37th.

Middletown North 2, No. 1 Manalapan 1

Randy Azzam scored the game-winning goal early in the second half and the Lions finished off the Braves (7-1-1, 6-1-1), handing the Shore's No. 1 team its first loss of the season. Middletown North (4-4-2, 4-3-2) has tied and defeated Manalapan in the two meetings between the teams after rallying for a 2-2 draw in the first meeting despite playing with 10 men from the early stages of the second half.

Azzam's goal was the second Middletown North goal in the game off a corner kick by John Maxted. Azzam settled at the back post and one-timed a deflected ball into the goal for the lead in the 44th minute. Dan Cavanagh gave Middletown North a 1-0 lead in the 25th with a header off Maxted's corner.

Eric Wilkinson pounded home a corner kick by Ryan Hammer in the 38th minute to pull Manalapan even at 1 just before halftime.

 

Class A Central

Manasquan 3, Rumson-Fair Haven 2 (OT)

Jake Cardelfe scored the golden goal during the second overtime period and the Warriors (7-4-1, 4-2-1) escaped with a win over the Bulldogs (3-6-1, 3-3-1) two days after knocking off Matawan in a second overtime period on Tuesday.

Ed Franzonie scored to give Manasquan a 1-0 lead and Beau Bradley's goal put the Warriors ahead, 2-1. Jack Luby and Matt Maisto scored the goals for Rumson, which also played in its second straight overtime game after beating Monmouth on Wednesday.

 

Class A South

No. 8 Brick Memorial 2, Southern 1

Chris Costa buried a cross from Alejandro Fernandez in the 57th minute for the game-winner as the Mustangs (6-2-2, 4-2-2) edged the Rams (4-6, 2-6). Southern tied the game in the 54th on a goal by Kyle Montesano off a free kick by Gavin Dougherty.

Kevin Simek headed home a cross by Ed Seaman in the seventh minute to open the scoring for Brick Memorial.

Jackson Memorial 2, Toms River East 1

Andrew Jozwicki scored two goals and the Jaguars (6-5-1, 4-4-0) edged the Raiders (4-5-1, 3-4-1) for their second straight win following a three-game skid.

No. 2 Toms River North 2, Lacey 1

Ryan Cheslock scored two goals in the second half and the Mariners (8-2, 7-1) rallied from a one-goal halftime deficit to beat the Lions (6-5-1, 3-4-1). Liam McDonnell set up winning goal with a cross into the box that Cheslock converted to give Toms River North the lead.

No. 4 Toms River South 2, Brick 1

Dylan Danelson and Jordan Urbaczek each scored a goal and the Indians (8-1, 7-1) dug out of an early 1-0 hole to top the Green Dragons (1-9, 0-8). After Juan Quintero scored on a header off a Mark Lima cross to give Brick the lead in the 19th minute, Danelson answered in the 29th by redirecting a cross from Ryan Shiffer out of the air and into the net.

Urbaczek gave Toms River South the lead by heading in a corner kick by John Timmes in the 43rd minute.

 

Class B North

Ocean 2, Neptune 0

Luis Araya and Wadneson Alexis each scored a goal and the Spartans (5-5-1, 5-2-1) beat the Scarlet Fliers (1-9-1, 0-8-0) to climb back to the .500 mark.

No. 6 Red Bank 3, No. 8 Wall 2

Sam MacPherson scored two goals in the second half after Justin Gilson scored one in the first as the Bucs (7-2, 6-2) beat the Crimson Knights (7-3-1, 5-2-1) to sweep the regular-season series and move into first place in the Class B North standings.

Gilson and Wall senior Zach Hetzel traded goals in the first half before MacPherson scored consecutive goals to give Red Bank a 3-1 lead. Hetzel added his second goal late in the second half to keep Wall in the game.

 

Class B Central

St. Rose 5, Mater Dei Prep 0

Travis Cloney scored two goals to lead the Purple Roses (7-3, 7-1) to a win over the Seraphs (0-8-1, 0-7-1). Ryan O'Malley, Jack Cusack and Brandon Hueth all scored a goal apiece for St. Rose.

No. 3 Shore 3, Point Beach 1

J.T. Kessler scored in the ninth minute to put Shore ahead 2-0 and again in the 45th to help the Blue Devils (10-1, 8-0) pull away from the Garnet Gulls (4-5, 4-4). Mike Barreca opened the scoring for Shore in the seventh minute of an assist from Cole Allem. Dante Montesinos and Alden Aikins each had an assist for Shore as well.

John DeSalvo scored off an assist from Johan Rosa to break up the shutout bid.

Asbury Park 4, Ranney 1

Davensky Joinvilmar scored two of Asbury Park's four second-half goals and the Blue Bishops (6-4, 6-2) came alive in the second half to escape the Panthers (3-6, 3-5). Carl Cazeau scored the first Asbury Park goal off a pass from Joey Johnson and freshman Widmaier Beaubrun scored his first varsity goal to cap the scoring.

 

Class B South

Donovan Catholic 6, Manchester 0

Matt Kelly scored five minutes into the match and set up a goal by Kevin Dillon just one minute later to get the Griffins (6-3, 5-3) rolling in a win over the Hawks (0-10-1, 0-7-1). Eric Glawson also added a goal and an assist in the second half, scoring on a penalty kick in the 49th minute and setting up Connor Grant's goal in the 51st.

Alec Mapoy and Matt Dalton also scored first-half goals for Donovan Catholic, with Dom DiSalvo and Dan Popo assisting each. Bryce Grant also added an assist, feeding Matt Kelly on the game's opening goal.

Central 5, Pinelands 1

Blake Czajkowski recorded a hat trick and Doug Jensen scored the other two goals to lead the Golden Eagles (8-1, 6-1) to a win over the Wildcats (5-3, 5-3), snapping Pinelands' four-game winning streak. Case Sunderman scored the Pinelands goal in the 46th minute to cut the deficit to 3-1.

Jackson Liberty 2, Lakewood 0

Brandon Pirog and Bryan Garry each scored a goal and Aidan Benbrook saved eight shots as the Lions (5-4, 5-2) shut out the Piners (0-9-1, 0-7-1).

Point Boro 4, Barnegat 1

Quin Hornish scored two goals and Evan McHugh added a goal and an assist to help the Panthers (8-2, 7-1) beat the Bengals (2-8, 2-6) for their seventh straight win. Kenny Fellows scored Point Boro's third goal of the game to put the Panthers up 3-1 before Hornish capped the scoring with his second goal of the game and sixth over the team's last four matches.

Reese Hardy scored the lone Barnegat goal off a pass from Ryan Flaherty. Owen Herrington and Mason Remondelli also had an assist each for Point Boro.
