Junior Rocky Garretson scored the lone goal of the game on an assist from senior Mitchel Volis in the 57th minute and the Braves (4-2, 4-2) beat the Lions (2-4, 2-4) less than 24 hours after beating No. 1 CBA. Sophomore Josh Koenig saved five shots to earn his second straight shutout.

No. 4 Ocean 6, Neptune 2

Senior Wadneson Alexis scored two goals and senior Braylin Estrella added a goal and three assists to help lead the Spartans (6-1, 5-0) to a win over the Scarlet Fliers (3-6, 0-5).

Alexis scored in the 24th minute on a rebound of a shot by senior Ryan Wells that hit the post to put Ocean on top, 3-0. His second goal was a header off a cross by Estrella to make the score 4-0 in the 50th.

Estrella set up the first goal of the game by junior Stephen Carton in the 13th minute, followed by a goal by senior Jordan Ornowski in the 18th, which also came off a rebound on a shot by Wells.

Estrella scored his goal off a Brandon Holland assist in the 76th and the Spartans capped their scoring a minute later on a goal by senior Kevin Astudillo.

Senior Tyler Schembri cut the Ocean lead to 4-1 in the 60th and senior Vinny Tremarco converted a penalty kick in the final minute to complete the scoring.

 

Class B South

Central 7, Lakewood 0

Seniors Shane Cranstoun and Jake Dufner each scored two goals for the second time in as many days and the Golden Eagles (4-1-2, 4-1-1) coasted to a win over the Piners (1-6, 1-5). The senior duo also scored a goal apiece in a win over Jackson Liberty on Friday.

Juniors Nate Wiley, Frank Golda and Cory Carsten each added a goal and junior Youssef Abdelaziz added two assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Tom Ruscitti chipped in an assist to go with his shutout in goal.

 

Non-Division

No. 6 Wall 2, Manasquan 0

Junior Dakota Dobrovich-Fago rebounded his own miss and converted the go-ahead goal in the 51st minute and junior Dan Frisch-Harmon tacked on an insurance tally in the 77th to help the Crimson Knights (6-0-1) beat the Warriors (5-4) and remain unbeaten.

Senior Chris Fay sent the ball from the right corner to the far past, where Dobrovich-Fago headed it out of the air. Manasquan goalkeeper Brian Comer saved the initial header, but Dobrovich-Fago followed it up with a shot that found the back of the net and broke a scoreless tie.

With Manasquan pushing forward in search of the equalizer, junior Ben Kernis sent a clearance down the middle of the field that Frisch-Harmon turned into a breakaway that he finished to the left corner.

The shutout was the sixth in seven games for junior goalkeeper Nolan Cloney and the Wall defense. The lone goal Wall has allowed this season was an own goal in a 1-1 draw against Long Branch.

Matawan 1, No. 7 Long Branch 0

Junior Tyler Chin scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute on an assist from Bobby Johns and the Huskies (4-2-1) edged the Green Wave (4-3-1).

Monmouth 5, Manchester 0

Senior Bobby Riordan recorded a hat trick and senior Ross Spadavecchia added a goal and three assists to help the Falcons (6-4) beat the Hawks (0-8) for their fourth straight win. Evan Koslowski added the fifth goal for Monmouth and sophomore Joel Burgos chipped in two assists as well.

No. 8 Marlboro 2, Red Bank Catholic 0

Senior Noah Moorstein and junior Verezdat Topuzyan each scored a goal and junior James Weinberg earned his second shutout in goal to help pace the Mustangs (3-2-1) to a win over the Caseys (0-6-1).

 

Non-Conference

Point Boro 1, Spotswood 0

Senior Mason Pitts scored the game's lone goal off a pass from junior Mason Remondelli and the Panthers (7-1) blanked the Chargers (5-3) behind a shutout by the defense and junior goalkeeper Tyler Haines.

Sophomore Matt Moran man-marked Spotswood leading scoring Nick Moran (15 goals) and held him scoreless two days after he held nine-goal scorer Brandon Pirog of Jackson Liberty scoreless on Thursday.
