Boys Soccer Saturday Scoreboard, 10/8/16

Class A North

Freehold Boro 4, Neptune 1

Four Freehold players scored a goal as the Colonials (5-7, 5-5) beat the Scarlet Fliers (1-9, 1-9) to snap a three-game losing streak. Collin Bertscha scored a goal and assisted two others, while Jake Brower, Abelard Herrera and Jared Avila each added a goal.

Wilby Alfred scored the lone Neptune goal three minutes into the game to stake the Fliers to an early lead. Bertscha then scored in the 18th and assisted Herrera's goal in the 36th to give Freehold Boro the lead. Avila scored two minutes later to give the Colonials a 3-1 halftime lead.

Manalapan 2, Howell 0

Rocky Garretson and Quentin Pickering each scored a goal and the Braves (3-7-1, 3-7-0) took down the Rebels (2-9, 2-9) to snap a four-game skid.

Pickering broke the scoreless deadlock with a goal out of a scrum late in the second half and Garretson followed that up by converting a penalty kick in the 70th.

GoalkeeperJosh Koenig highlighted his shutout with a save of a point-blank header in the first haf.

Class A South

Jackson Memorial 2, Central 1

Brothers Jacob and Ben Patti each scored a goal on an assist from Mike Schoener and the Jaguars (6-7, 5-7) took down the Golden Eagles (8-4-1, 7-4-1).

Brick Memorial 1, Toms River East 0

Erik Fatovic scored the lone goal of the game and the Mustangs (1-10-1, 1-8-1) blanked the Raiders (0-9-1, 0-9-1) for their first win of the season.

Class B South

Lakewood 2, Lacey 1

Anthony Calixto scored two goals and the Piners (6-8, 4-7) beat the Lions (5-7, 5-5). Calixto has scored six goals in two days after putting up four in a 6-4 win over Barnegat on Friday. Kip Byrne scored the lone Lacey goal.

Point Boro 6, Jackson Liberty 1

Liam Kirinovic scored two goals off passes from Jacob Kirinovic and the Panthers (11-1, 8-1) routed the Lions (5-6-1, 3-6-1) to win their 10th straight and move into a first-place tie with Pinelands in the Class B South standings.

Matt Kimak, Mason Remondelli, Mariano Maradiegue and Ryan Schmitt each added a goal for Point Boro and Cormac McCabe dished out two assists.

Matt Campbell scored off a pass from Kevin Garry to pull Jackson Liberty within 2-1 in the 31st minute.

Non-Division

Monmouth 4, Keyport 0

Brian Walsak scored a goal and assisted two others to lead the Falcons (3-11) over the Red Raiders (0-12) for their second straight win. Matt Quesada, Jason Wolff and Ryan Hoplock each scored a goal as well and Sebastian Herria added two assists.
