Senior Jose Silva scored off a feed from Andy Rizo seven minutes into the second half and senior Jose Lopez earned the shutout in goal as the Colonials (4-2, 2-2) edged the Lions (1-3, 1-3).

No. 1 CBA 2, Howell 0

Senior Nick Meyer scored off a pass from junior Ryan Nigro to break a scoreless tie in the second half and Nigro later tacked on a goal to give the Colts (5-1, 5-0) a win over the Rebels (1-3-1, 1-3-1).

No. 3 Freehold Twp. 2, No. 9 Manalapan 1

Seniors Nick Facendo and Chris Hoskins scored three minutes apart during the opening minutes of the second half and the Patriots (3-1-1, 3-1-0) edged the Braves (2-2, 2-2) in the first meeting between the Class A North rivals since Freehold Township knocked off Manalapan in last year's Shore Conference Tournament semifinal.

Facendo tapped in a ball played through by Hoskins from the top of the 18-yard box to break a scoreless tie in the first minute of the second half. Three minutes later, Hoskins bent a direct kick from 22 yards out around the Manalapan wall and in for a 2-0 lead.

Senior Joe Ahn scored out of a scrum inside the 18-yard box to pull Manalapan within 2-1 in the 62nd minute. The Braves hit the crossbar in the 77th, but Freehold Township and junior goalkeeper Josh Nastarowicz survived the late Manalapan push.

No. 8 Marlboro 3, Middletown South 0

Sophomore Brian Dates scored his first two varsity goals and junior James Weinberg recorded his first career shutout in goal to help lead the Mustangs (2-1-1, 2-1-1) to a win over the Eagles (0-5, 0-4). Senior Noah Moorstein also added a goal in the win.

 

Class A Central

No. 5 Rumson-Fair Haven 2, Matawan 1

Sophomore Owen Greengrove scored the game-winning goal in the 65th minute off a pass from junior Tyler Kipler and the Bulldogs (7-0, 5-0) remained unbeaten by beating the defending division champion Huskies (3-2-1, 2-2-1). Six of Rumson's seven wins have been by a one-goal margin.

Senior Matt Maisto opened the scoring for the Bulldogs with a goal in the fourth minute on a set-up from sophmore Jeremy Nives.

Matawan answered in the 35th with a goal by senior Bronson Dhume to tie the game at 1 heading into halftime.

Class A South

Toms River South 1, Brick Memorial 0

Senior Cameron Geerinck scored the game's lone goal in the 28th minute and the Indians (4-1, 4-0) held on to beat the Mustangs (2-2-1, 2-1-1) for their fourth straight win. Junior Tyler Egnatuk played the ball to Geerinck at the top of the 18-yard box and the senior turned to his left, split two Brick Memorial defenders and slotted a shot to the far left side netting.

Brick Memorial junior Angel Suarez got behind the Toms River South defense in the final minute of the game and got a shot past Toms River South goalkeeper Dom Pizzi, but his shot skipped wide of the right crossbar.

Lacey 6, Brick 0

Senior Robert Biele recorded his third hat trick of the season and senior Hunter Dorsey also sprung for three goals as the Lions (5-1, 3-1) coasted to a win over the Green Dragons (0-5, 0-4).

Jackson Memorial 1, No. 10 Toms River North 0 (OT)

Junior Mike Schoener walked in the golden goal 3:10 into the second overtime period and the Jaguars (4-2-1, 3-1-1) topped the Mariners in extra time.

After a Toms River North turnover in its own end, senior Dan Van Clef played a ball over the top of the Mariners defense that bounced over goalkeeper Tommy Lynch and right to Schoener, who tapped it in for the winner.

Schoener, who also hit the post on a shot in the first half, now has nine goals in seven games for Jackson Memorial, which is 4-0-1 when Schoener scores a goal.

Southern 2, Toms River East 1

Senior Matt McHugh scored with 3:06 left to break a 1-1 tie and the Rams (1-5, 1-4) upended the Raiders (0-3-2, 0-3-1) for their first win of the season. Senior Kyle Montesano scored the first Southern goal.

Marcelo Durante scored the lone Toms River East goal.

 

Class B North

Colts Neck 1, Red Bank 0

Junior Michael Martinho's goal was the difference as the Cougars (4-1-1, 3-1-0) edged the Bucs for their third straight win.

No. 4 Ocean 3, No. 7 Long Branch 1

Senior Ryan Wells headed in a corner kick by junior Ian Dwyer and Dwyer later added a goal to give the Spartans (4-1, 3-0) a three-goal lead heading into halftime, which was too much for the Green Wave (3-2-1, 1-1-1) to overcome.

Wells opened the scoring in the 11th minute and senior Wadneson Alexis gave Ocean a 2-0 lead with a goal in 16th off an assist from senior Joe Abrams. Dwyer capped the scoring in the 32nd.

Junior Kevin Correas scored the lone Long Branch goal in the final minute - his first varsity goal.

 

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 5, Keyport 2

Senior Phil Cantave scored two goals and the Seraphs (1-4, 1-3) pulled away for a win over the Red Raiders (0-3, 0-3), the first win for Mater Dei this season. Seniors Nic Geneve and Lucas Durante each added a goal, as did freshman Chris Ward.

Point Beach 9, Henry Hudson 0

Sophomore Aris Papoutsakis posted a hat trick and senior goalkeeper Ryan Franzoni came out of the net to scored three second-half goals as the Garnet Gulls (3-3, 3-1) rode the dual hat tricks to a win over the Admirals (0-3, 0-3).

Seniors Joe Laduca, Johan Rosa and Jack McDonald each added a goal apiece for Point Beach

No. 1 Shore 5, Ranney 1

Junior Dante Montesinos scored a second-half hat trick to turn a 1-1 tie into a convincing Blue Devils (6-0, 4-0) win over the Panthers (3-2, 2-2).

Montesinos gave Shore a 2-1 lead in the 49th minute off a pass from junior Stevie Johnson, followed by goals in the 63rd and 72nd on assists by senior J.T. Kessler.

Ranney grabbed a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute on a goal by Jazz Henry off a Shane Keenan assist. Shore pulled even in the 30th minute on penalty kick by Kessler, the first of his two goals in the game. Kessler capped the scoring on a free kick in the 74th minute for his 12th goal of the season.

St. Rose 4, Asbury Park 0

Junior Matty O'Malley scored two goals and junior Jack Cusack added a goal and an assist to help the Purple Roses (3-2, 3-1) blank the Blue Bishops (2-3, 2-2). Senior Connor Cusack capped the scoring by heading in a rebound after a direct kick by junior Anthony Demaio slammed off the post.

 

Class B South

Jackson Liberty 8, Manchester 0

Senior Brandon Pirog scored three goals to increase his season total to nine and Lions (3-2-1, 3-0-1) coasted to a win over the Hawks (0-5, 0-4). Senior Nick Pellegrino, junior Nate Santana, sophomore Kevin Barry, senior Morgan Barkley and Evan Salaj each added a goal in the win.

Point Boro 2, Donovan Catholic 0

Seniors Ryan Griffith and Sam Monaco each scored a goal and the Panthers (5-1, 4-0) and junior goalkeeper Tyler Haines shut out the Griffins (1-2-2, 1-1-2). Monaco now has seven goal this season.

Pinelands 1, Barnegat 0

Junior Jordan Humphreys broke a scoreless tie with a goal with 1:15 left in the game on a set-up from junior Matt O'Connell and the Wildcats (3-2, 3-1) beat the Bengals (2-4, 1-3) in dramatic fashion.
