Class A North

CBA 5, Marlboro 1

Juniors Luke Pascarella and Chris Vollrath scored two goals each and the Colts (4-1, 2-0) cruised to a win over the Mustangs (1-2-1, 0-2-0).

Pascarella scored the first CBA goal in the fifth minute and the last in the 56th to make it 5-0. He also assisted the second goal by Vollrath five minutes into the second half.

Senior Dom Bellomo scored the other CBA goal to make the score 3-0 in the 39th and assisted the first goal by Vollrath in the 34th minute. Senior Jack Gill added a pair of assists as well.

Howell 1, Freehold Boro 0

Senior Rob Saunders buried a left-footed strike in the fourth minute of overtime and the Rebels (3-1, 1-1) edged the Colonials (3-2, 1-1). Senior goalkeeper Shane McBride saved three shots for his second straight shutout since returning to the lineup in the third game of the season.

Long Branch 4, Middletown South 3 (OT)

Senior Rey Guzman connected on a 35-yard strike during the second overtime period and the Green Wave (4-2, 1-1) rallied from a 3-1 deficit to overcome the Eagles (1-4, 0-2).

Senior Stiviny Silva scored two more goals to extend his Shore-Conference-leading total to nine for the season. He also assisted a goal by junior Patrick O'Dwyer.

Senior Jonathan Santos scored two goals and added an assist to lead Middletown South.

Manalapan 2, Freehold Twp. 1

Senior Ryan Caruso scored out of a scrum with 32 seconds left in the first half and the Braves (2-2-1, 2-0-0) held on to beat the Patriots (2-1-1, 1-1-0) for their third straight positive result since a nightmare start to the season.

Senior Mike Kuver assisted the winning goal and also set up senior Justin Goldberg for a 20-yard strike that opened the scoring for Manalapan.

Senior Richie Beggs scored off a set-up from sophomore Zach Orrico to momentarily pull Freehold Township even.

Manalapan opened the season with a 4-0 loss to Southern, followed by an 8-2 loss to Jackson Memorial. Since then, the Braves have defeated Marlboro, 3-2, in overtime and earned a scoreless draw at Bridgewater-Raritan before beating Freehold Township on Monday.


Class A Central

Manasquan 2, Rumson-Fair Haven 1

Junior Drew Greenblatt scored both Manasquan goals, including the game-winner in the 63rd minute that lifted the Warriors (4-1, 2-0) to a win over the Bulldogs (0-3, 0-1).

Greenblatt scored off a corner kick by sophomore Tommy Johnson in the 12th minute to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead before Rumson tied the game on an own goal shortly before halftime.

Greenblatt scored the winner after senior Sam Del Guercio flicked him a the ball with his head.

Holmdel 3, Monmouth 0

Junior Jack Giamanco scored two goals and assisted another by senior Jack Russo to lead the Hornets (4-0, 2-0) to their fourth straight win to open the season while also handing the Falcons (5-1, 1-1) their first loss. Senior Jack Murray saved two shots to nail down his fourth consecutive shutout to open the season.

Giamanco scored on an assist from senior Mark McStay in the 23rd minute and set up Russo's score two minutes later. Senior Joe Arena found Giamanco for his sixth goal of the season during the fifth minute of the second half to cap the scoring.


Class A South

Jackson Memorial 5, Brick Memorial 0

Junior Dan Russo scored two goals and assisted one by classmate Ben Schnaak to lead the Jaguars (5-0, 2-0) past the Mustangs (1-3, 0-2) for their fifth straight win to open the season.

Junior Gianluca Gruosso and senior Richard Chan each added a goal, while freshman Steve Bado, senior Nick Schlageter, and sophomore Drew Walenty each added an assist.

Toms River North 2, Central 0

Sophomore Ali Baush scored off a pass from senior Kyle Kerr in the 44th minute and senior Riley DeFeis added an insurance goal off a set-up by senior Andrew Casey to highlight a Mariners (3-0-2, 2-0-0) win over the Golden Eagles (0-5, 0-2).


Class B North

Neptune 2, Colts Neck 1

Senior Wilby Alfred scored for the sixth time in four games and the Scarlet Fliers (3-0-1, 2-0-0) edged the Cougars (1-2, 1-1) to extend their unbeaten start to the season. Senior Anderson Galindo accounted for the other Neptune goal. Senior Paul Tepedino scored the lone Colts Neck goal.

Ocean 3, Red Bank 0

Senior Santieno Harding scored two goals off free kicks by senior Zach Sintic and senior Leo Montesinos added a third goal to close out a Spartans (4-1, 2-0) win over the Bucs (1-4, 0-2).

St. John Vianney 2, Middletown North 0

Freshman Johnny Traiono opened the scoring in the 15th minute off a pass from junior Kieran Kane and assisted a goal by junior Armond Valentino five minutes later to spark the Lancers (3-3, 1-1) to a win over the Lions (2-3, 0-2).


Class B Central

Ranney 3, Henry Hudson 2

Charlie McCann, Ademola Odunlami and Sam Murphy all scored in the final 30 minutes and the Panthers (1-2, 0-1) rallied from a 2-0 deficit to upend the Admirals (2-2, 0-1) and win their first game of the season.

Senior Odhran King scored both Henry Hudson goals.

Point Beach 5, Mater Dei Prep 0

Seniors Alex Atno and Ki Kosta scored two goals apiece - one in each half - and the Garnet Gulls (2-0, 2-0) coasted to a win over the Seraphs (0-3, 0-1). Costa assisted the second of Atno's goals, which came in the 50th minute.

Sophomore Justin Mazzatta scored the other Point Beach goal and sophomore Dylan Apportela and senior Eric Montecello combined on the clean sheet.



Lakewood 4, Brick 1

The Piners (4-0-1) got four consecutive goals from four different players from the 50th minute on to beat the Green Dragons (2-4) and remain unbeaten.

Junior Jersey Salazar scored the equalizer in the 50th and senior Josh Lemus put Lakewood on top with a goal in the 59th.

Nathaniel Zuniga scored to make it 3-1 in the 62nd and Giovanni Hernandez capped the scoring with a goal in the 78th.

James Bazydlo broke the ice with a goal in the the 45th minute to stake Brick to a 1-0 lead.

Manchester 2, Keyport 0

Junior Nick Oliver and sophomore Blake Weiner each scored a goal and the Hawks (1-2) blanked the Red Raiders (0-3) for their first win of the season.

Toms River East 4, Point Boro 0

Sophomore Alex Heid and senior Logan Romero each recorded a goal and an assist and the Raiders (2-3) rolled to a win over the Panthers (0-6), who remain scoreless through six games this season.

Sophomore Aidan Meola and senior Logan Sommerer each added a goal for Toms River East and senior Pete Kozlej dished out two assists in the win.

Lacey 7, St. Rose 0

Junior Sean Moffitt recorded a hat trick and senior Kip Byrne broke the program's all-time assists record as the Lions (3-1) won their third straight since dropping an opening-day decision vs. Pinelands, this time by routing the Purple Roses (3-2).

Byrne scored once and assisted two goals on Monday to give him 38 career assists, breaking the previous record of 36 held by current Shore Regional head coach Christian Pontier.

Miguel Andrade added two goals and junior Kian Gonzalez accounted for the other Lacey goal.



Shore 8, Passaic Arts and Sciences 0

Senior Ryan Bongarzone scored twice and assisted a goal by senior Brandon DeNovaes in the first 10 minutes and the Blue Devils (1-4) never looked back in picking up their first win of the season.

Senior Taylor Sousa scored the fourth Shore goal in the 15th minute and senior Matt Klesmer and freshman Will LaBruno each added a goal along the way.
