No. 4 CBA 5, Freehold 2

Matt Thorsheim assisted John Frycz's equalizer and scored the winner six minutes later as the Colts scored four goals in the final 15 minutes to rally for a win over the Colonials.

Russell Romano scored two goals, opening the scoring in the 15th minute and pushing the CBA lead to 4-2 with a goal in the 78th. Nick Meyer capped the scoring in the 80th minute for CBA off the second of two assists by Thorsheim. Richie Leister also added two assists for the Colts.

Jack LeMunyon scored in the 34th minute to tie the game at 1 and Dominick Matteo gave Freehold the lead in the 51st, one the Colonials would hold for 14 minutes.

Middletown North 1, No. 2 Freehold Twp. 0

Jim Kelly converted a penalty kick in the 66th minute following a takedown in the 18-yard box and the Lions handed the Patriots their first loss while simultaneously picking up their first win. Scott Weigel made eight saves to earn the shutout.

Marlboro 4, Howell 1

Ben Metzger scored two of Marlboro's three first-half goals after assisting sophomore P.J. Ringel's goal to open the scoring and the Mustangs rolled to a win over the Rebels. The three goals came in a six-minute span between the 26th and 32nd minutes.

Connor Leahy added the fourth Marlboro goal in the 48th minute on a pass from Bryan DaSilva.

 

Class A Central

Manasquan 3, Monmouth 2

Junior Beau Bradley scored two goals to break a 1-1 tie and the the Warriors outlasted the Falcons. Tolga Guven scored the equalizer for Manasquan after Monmouth took an early 1-0 lead.

 

Class B North

Red Bank Catholic 3, No. 9 Red Bank 1

Kevin Davey ripped home the equalizer from 30 yards out 15 seconds before the half and Chris Cesario scored the winner in the 59th minute to help the Caseys beat the Bucs for their first win of the season.

Davey added a penalty kick in the 72nd minute to cap the scoring. Justin Gilson gave Red Bank a 1-0 lead with a goal in the fifth minute.

Colts Neck 6, Neptune 0

Taylor Demick scored two goals and added an assist to lead a six-goal outburst and the Cougars handled the Scarlet Fliers for their fourth straight win. John Mojica, Tyler Lee, Rich Sommer and Chris Greco each added goals for Colts Neck, which allowed only one shot to Neptune.

No. 8 Wall 2, No. 5 Long Branch 0

Wall broke a scoreless tie with an own goal early in the second half and Joe Tashjy added an insurance goal to help the Crimson Knights upend the Green Wave.

 

Class B Central

Asbury Park 3, Ranney 1

Carl Cazeau scored two goals, including one in a two-goal second half that broke a 1-1 halftime tie and propelled the Blue Bishops to a win over the Panthers. Davensky Jonvilmar added the third goal for Asbury Park.
