Pinelands 5, Jackson Liberty 1

Five different Pinelands players scored and the Wildcats (3-1, 2-0) topped the Lions (0-3, 0-2) for their third straight win.

Junior Johnny Hart scored his fifth goal in four games while sophomore Adam Grelak, senior Tony Aguilar, senior Logan Johnson and senior Creed Nass each scored as well.

Senior Kellie Koroma scored the Jackson Liberty goal.

 

Non-Division

Manchester 3, Keyport 1

Sophomore Vincent Paolillo scored a goal and assisted another as the Hawks (4-1) rode three first-half goals to a win over the Red Raiders (2-2). Blake Weiner and Diego Martinez each added a goal for Manchester.

Sophomore George Mitchell scored the lone Keyport goal off a pass from senior Angelo Madrigal.

No. 8 Middletown South 4, Red Bank Catholic 1

Junior Matt Glynn scored two goals and senior Mike Barbara and junior Aaron Oliveira added one each to lead the Eagles (2-3) to a win over the Caseys (0-5).

Ocean 3, No. 2 Manasquan 2 (OT)

Senior Robert Lopes scored the second of his two goals in the 91st minute and the Spartans (1-3) knocked off the Warriors (2-1) for their first win of the season.

The win was payback of sorts for last season, when Manasquan upset a highly-touted Ocean side on the road before the Spartans eventually went on to win the Shore Conference and Group III Tournaments.

Like Manasquan did last year, Ocean fell into a 2-0 hole and chipped away in the second half, starting with a penalty kick converted by Lopes. The Spartans then tied it on a goal by senior Eli Brandimarte in the 54th off a long throw from sophomore Aidan Tisony.

Manasquan pounced on Ocean on a goal by senior Rich Maloney in the second minute, with senior Chris Pierro playing him through. Junior Tommy Johnson extended the Warriors lead to 2-0 with a strike from 18 yards out in the 15th.

Red Bank 3, Lacey 0

Senior Erik Christie scored a pair of goals and classmate Aden Castell added a pair of assisted to spark the Bucs (2-2) to a win over the Lions (1-3). Castell assisted a goal by junior Matteo Balderas to open the scoring, then set up Christie for the first of his two goals. junior John Venino assisted Christie's second score.

No. 5 Wall 3, Rumson-Fair Haven 2

Senior Thomas Perry assisted the first goal of the game and gave Wall a 3-0 lead with a goal of his own early in the second half as the Crimson Knights (4-0) held off the Bulldogs (0-3) for their fourth straight win to open the season.

Junior Jake Pepe finished off Wall's first goal in the third minute and Perry's strike in the 52nd put the Crimson Knights ahead by three goals. Senior Alex Longo scored off a pass from senior John Knight in the 33rd to extend Wall's lead to 2-0 heading into halftime.

Barnegat 2, Ranney 1 (OT)

Senior Alex Zuniga scored the golden goal in the first minute of overtime and the Bengals (5-0) won their fifth straight to open the season by edging the Panthers (0-3). Grady White scored the first Barnegat goal and assisted Zuniga's winner.

Monmouth 9, Henry Hudson 0

Diego Ibarra scored two goals and Ethan Wallace added a goal and two assists as the Falcons (6-0) coasted to a win over the Admirals (1-3).

Neptune 4, Point Beach 0

Seniors Kyle Schembri and Marvin Garcia each scored a goal and dished out an assist to help the Scarlet Fliers (5-1) score a shutout win over the Garnet Gulls (2-2). Junior Steven Camacho and senior Ryan Gannon added a goal apiece for Neptune.
