For the second time this season, a Central Regional standout is the Surf Taco Boys Soccer Player of the Week. The Golden Eagles finished the regular season strong, highlighted by a rivalry win over Lacey. DiCillo was the star of that 2-1 victory, inwhich he scored a goal and assisted another by classmate John Truhan to involve himself in all of his team's scoring that day.
DiCillo won a close Player of the Week race that came down to three nominees vying for the top spot. DiCillo's 30 percent was the winning total, with Donovan Catholic senior Peyton Calvetto checking in just under 27 percent and Howell senior R.J. Eckelman -- who led his team to the Shore Conference Tournament final -- coming in at a shade under 26 percent.
For winning the latest Player of the Week award, DiCillo will receive a $25 gift card from Surf Taco. He joins junior teammate David Kroon, who won the first Player of the Week award of 2022 before his season was cut short by a leg injury.
