No. 3 Freehold Twp. 2, Howell 0

Senior Adam Havens scored the deciding goal in the 50th minute off a through-ball from junior Herman Colbert and the Patriots (8-3, 8-3) put away the Rebels (3-6-2, 3-6-2) for their fourth straight win. Senior Anthony Barthel headed in the insurance goal in the 62nd off a corner kick from sophomore Caleb Zettell.

No. 4 Long Branch 1, Manalapan 0

Senior Augusto Bontempo converted a penalty kick in the 25th minute for the game's lone goal and the Green Wave (9-2, 9-2) held off the Braves (0-8, 0-8).

 

Class A Central

Monmouth 7, Red Bank Catholic 0

Juniors Kaan Pehlivan and Ethan Wallace each posted a hat trick and the Falcons (5-7-1, 4-7-1) beat the Caseys (0-11, 0-9) for their fifth straight win. Riley Kline added a goal and an assist while Ryan Kuldanek assisted three of Monmouth's four first-half goals.

Rumson-Fair Haven 4, Ocean 0

Junior Luke Pentikis scored two of four first-half goals by Rumson and the Bulldogs (6-4-1, 6-2-1) hammered the Spartans (5-4-2, 4-4-2) for the second straight game.

Senior Evan Quon and junior Harrison Gibson accounted for the other two Rumson goals while senior Dylan Haley contributed two assists.

No. 7 Holmdel 3, No. 9 Raritan 2

The Hornets (10-0-1, 9-0-1) scored three goals within a six-minute span of the first half and benefited from a straight red card on the Raritan side to beat the Rockets (7-2-1, 7-2-1) and extend their unbeaten streak to 65 straight games.

Raritan took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute when sophomore Lupo Ryder finished off a pass up ahead from senior Matt Fogarty, then Rockets goalkeeper Gavin Hersey saved a penalty kick by Holmdel senior Felix Doebbel in the 24th. Doebbel, however, followed the save and finished on the rebound to tie the game and set off a scoring barrage by the Hornets.

Holmdel grabbed the lead on a goal by senior Matt Kline in the 28th minute and stretched it to 3-1 on a goal by senior Brendan Rebele in the 30th off a feed from senior Connor Hinds.

Raritan's problems mounted when senior midfielder Emir Pupovic was sent off with a red card for dissent in the 33rd, but the Rockets responded with a goal by senior Chris Fontanazza on a 25-yard direct kick in the 35th.

 

Class B North

No. 6 Wall 2, Matawan 1 (OT)

Senior Nico DellaPietro ripped a low, one-timed strike from the top of the 18-yard box and into the goal in the 13th minute of overtime and the Crimson Knights (12-0, 12-0) pulled out their 12th straight win to open the season by beating the Huskies (5-7, 5-7).

Matawan jumped out to a 1-0 lead when senior Pasindu Dodangoda walked in a cross from senior Justin Skeete in the fourth minute.

Wall struck back in the 37th after a takedown inside the 18-yard box set up a successful penalty kick by senior Sean Southwell.

Matawan sophomore goalkeeper Jarod McMeans made diving saves in the 79th and 87th minutes to momentarily preserve the tie before DellaPietro finally slipped one by him.

Wall's win gives the Crimson Knights an 18-game unbeaten streak dating back to a loss to Christian Brothers Academy in the final regular-season tuneup prior to the NJSIAA Tournament.

No. 5 Colts Neck 5, Manasquan 1

Junior David Tuschmann scored the first two goals of the second half to break a 1-1 tie and take over the Shore Conference goal-scoring lead as the Cougars (12-0, 12-0) rolled to another win over the Warriors (5-6-1, 5-6-1) - their 12th straight victory to open the season.

With Wednesday's brace, Tuschman now leads the Shore with 19 goals on the season.

Junior Tom Samaras opened the scoring for Colts Neck in the sixth minute off a pass from senior Ryan Lee, but Manasquan came right back with a goal by Matt Karolak in the ninth off a pass from senior Simon Cardenas.

Adam Haaf and Jiro Chira each added a goal in the second half to wrap up the scoring.

Class B South

Barnegat 3, Donovan Catholic 3

Junior Schuyler Jodice posted a hat trick, including two second half goals that erased a 3-1 Barnegat deficit and salvaged a draw for the Bengals (0-9-2, 0-9-2) against the Griffins (2-5-3, 2-5-2).

After Jodice gave Barnegat a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute, junior Preston Kyriakoulis came right back with an answer in the 10th. Senior Vin Mendes gave Donovan Catholic a 2-1 lead in the 28th and senior Clay Yannazzone scored in the 46th to extend the lead to 3-1, with Kyriakoulis assisting both goals that followed his equalizer.

Jodice scored in the 50th and again in the 57th to square up the game.
