Class A South

No. 3 Toms River North 3, Brick Memorial 0

Senior Ali Baish, senior Jack Montanile and junior Jared Brown each finished off a goal and the Mariners (10-0, 10-0) blanked the Mustangs (2-6-2, 2-6-2) for their 10th straight win to open the season.

Brick 3, No. 2 Southern 2

The Green Dragons (6-3, 6-3) scored three unanswered goals during a 15-minute stretch and held on to hand the Rams (9-1, 9-1) their first loss of the season.

Senior Sean Palmer scored to tie the game at 1-1 in the 27th minute, then found classmate Zack Meyer for a finish on a counter-attack in the 32nd minute to put Brick ahead, 2-1.

In the first minute of the second half, Palmer drew a trip inside the box and senior Eli Chong converted the ensuing penalty kick to stretch Brick's lead to 3-1.

Senior Kevin Kiernan scored both Southern goals, increasing his Shore-Conference-leading total to 17 on the season. Kiernan scored on a deflected shot in the 23rd minute and drew the Rams within a goal in the 67th, when he knocked in a cross from junior Luke Hart.

Class B Central

Asbury Park 2, Keyport 0

Senior Jean Roody Salomon broke through for two goals in the second half that proved to be the difference in a Blue Bishops (5-2, 5-2) win over the Red Raiders (0-8, 0-8). Ricardo Augustine and Woodley Cagilus delivered the assists on the two Asbury Park goals.

Point Beach 1, Mater Dei Prep 0

Sophomore Collin Hutton kicked down the door with a goal in the 57th minute off a pass from junior Luke Zylinski and the Garnet Gulls (7-3, 7-3) pulled out a win over the Seraphs (1-6, 1-6). Senior Dylan Aportela saved nine shots to earn his sixth shutout.

St. Rose at Henry Hudson - PPD, TBA

 

Class B South

Lacey 3, Barnegat 0

Senior Noah Hamouda scored two goals and the Lions (7-2-1, 7-2-1) rolled to a win over the Bengals (0-8-1, 0-8-1). Hamouda opened the scoring in the 21st minute off a through-ball from senior George-Kyle Hernandez and capped it in the 63rd by scoring off a cross from junior Bryan Cardoso.

Junior Dom Iorio scored the second Lacey goal when he won the ball near midfield, carried it forward and buried a shot from just outside the 18-yard box in the 48th minute.

Donovan Catholic at Jackson Liberty – PPD, TBA

 

Non-Division

Donovan Catholic 2, Central 2

Junior Gianni Smith and sophomore Ryan Dicillo both scored goals as Central (0-6-2) rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to salvage a draw against Donovan Catholic (2-4-2).

The Griffins jumped out to a two-goal lead on goals by juniors Preston Kyriakoulis and Raul Soriano that came within two minutes of one another in the 30th and 32nd minutes.

Smith cut the deficit in half for the Golden Eagles in the 35th and Dicillo evened it up with his goal in the 50th.

 

Non-Conference

Old Bridge 3, Rumson-Fair Haven 2

Senior Dylan Haley scored goals in the 33rd and 47th minute for the Bulldogs (4-4-1), but the Knights (4-3) rallied with three goals in the final 20 minutes to pull off the comeback victory.

Senior Jake DeLuca and junior Jake Martins scored to tie the score up and senior Ulisses Ruiz delivered the game-winner for Old Bridge.
